So we have to spend $100.00 bucks just to get Hawk. that blows. hopefully there's a single card version released later on.

The Pitt is growing on me. I still think it reminds me of a House Boat but I am starting to feel better about it.
While it seems so many of the fellow members here are dumping hate towards this toy, I feel it will do well with the general public of children. My Nephews 9,12 and 14 are excited to see the Pitt. They have already started to save money towards purchasing many of the movie toys. They loved Sigma 6 and are excited over the movie toys. Hasbro is luring the kids of today into the toy line with all the gimicks and play features, that is their job. I know how many of you feel about this. I also wanted a great center piece to my Modern collection but instead we got this. So it takes me sitting back and remembering that we are not the target audience here. So please sit back and chill some, the Pitt is what it is and it will help to keep the toy line moving forward.

Only problem is - Will people step back and see that your words are pure truth? |

I said from the first pic that the PIT looked kind of fun. Alot of anger was being thrown at a fuzzy picture. It has a pingpong table which is pure win in my book! Too huge and pricey to own for me, and I am kinda bummed about the hawk being exclusive when every other vehicle seems to have a repaint.
What's up with gunship firefly's helmet? It may be a clue to a 25th character we haven't seen yet. They don't make new molds for random characters unless they plan to reuse them. I thought maybe mamba pilot helmet or maybe annhilator that isn't so duck-like? Ideas? |

I'm not a G.I.Joe Movie hater, in fact I know absolutely nothing about it, but after seeing Hasbro's grand unveiling for the movie line, I'm thoroughly disappointed. The P.I.T.T. looks like CRAP! Maybe its because I thought it was going to be the underground playset we've all wanted, but it looks like the CORPS! equivalent to the Mobile Command Center. Cardboard accessories? Really? In this day and age? I would be hard pressed to shell out $25 for that hunk, none-the-less $100.
The Cobra Gunship has two spring-loaded guns and looks like a UFO. That's supposed to be a helicopter? Huge disappointment there. The Cobra Hummer (Scarab?) looks good enough to buy, but I'm reserving judgement until it's actually in a brick and mortar for my final decision. The Raven is another tough sell. I think it looks neat, but the lack of a drone and the 'gun-pump' action feature really hurt this vehicle. However it's the first new Cobra jet to see release since the Battle Hornet and wouldn't mind reinforcing my Cobra Air Force. It's a maybe for me. I'm waiting for the final price tag for this one (or the clearance rack at least). So far the only two vehicles that are a definite buy are the Ferret and Armadillo. Two RAH molds. Huh. Interesting. I still haven't decided about the single packs. They look alright, not a fan of the spring-loaded weapons, but it's in no way a deal-breaker. At the very least I can make my 3 3/4 Sigma Six customs easy enough. I am pissed that the only way to get Hawk is via the P.I.T.T. I too, hope they release him in a single pack. The two 7-packs are AMAZING! Show stopper all the way. Can't say enough how excited I am about these. I'm probably going to pump all the money I plan in saving on the movie line into troop-building the Cobra pack. In closing, I too, hope the movie line draws 'the shorties' into the Joe-verse, but I think most of this stuff will be a pass for the majority of collectors. |

I think the Movie toys are great for kids and collectors alike! As much of an adult collector as I am, the G.I. Joe Movie Pit is for kids and I have no problem with that. There are plenty of vintage vehicles and play sets that I can use to display my 25th collection...not every toy has to be 25th Ann. inspired/made for the adult collector in mind.
When the original G.I.Joe 3 3/4 line came out in the 80s...the focus was not with the adult collector in mind. I wonder if the '64 era collectors screamed that their childhood was getting raped when the line debuted? Too bad that most fellow collectors who grew up in that same area don't share the same views on the 25th Ann./Movie Line. I like that there is a GREAT mix of 25th Ann. vintage toys as well as Movie toys that will create new fans for a new era. My son is happy to have a great selection of toys coming out. I'll admit, I'm not a fan of the big projectile-shooting guns that come with the new Movie figures, but I'll toss them to the side...there are some really nice figures coming our way! Good job Hasbro!!!! |

Preach on Erick and Sam! It is good to see all the attention and branded merchandise on Joe. Even if I don't like something does not mean I won't buy it for a gift or something. It is cultivating the next gen of Joe fans AND getting more people into the hobby.

It makes me sad that I have waited for a Ferret ever since the Twins Comic Pack came out and all we get is this ugly re-paint with an giant lame ass missile launcher. Time to start looking for a vintage one I guess.
