I think that both seven packs=win.
that being said, has the dust settled on what happens next? Are they still planning on doing resolute figs? where were they? are the waves with battledamaged bat, zap, etc. cancelled? are all nonmovie vehicles cancelled at this point? |

As far as these being online only... it is a genius move if you ask me.
I'd love to still be able to get my classic Joe fix without having to drive all over town just to get 1 or 2 of a wave and drive my OCD self nuts for weeks on end. Plus, I've always thought that, despite being nice to see these Joes in a toy aisle again since the 80s, that they're 95% for collectors and not little kids anyways, so going straight-to-online or specialty shops is a smarter collector-geared decision anyways... The reason the distribution/sales is so weird nationwide is due to collectors being bigger in some areas, so we end up with product collecting dust in some locations, and never-enough-on-the-shelves in other cities. Not to be negative, but I'd be lying if the fact that they're multi-packed didn't bum me out. I love the single-carded artwork and presentation, which you lose in vehicle or multi-packs. If they do them as all-packed-into-one-box, I hope they go smaller like the Extreme Condition sets, as they were a great size if you ask me... They don't take up a lot of unnecessary space and still display quite nicely. The tradeoff is that the cards are pre-cut and you don't destroy the card art to get the profile card. |

Man, these 7-packs are all I care about... Glad there's at least 14 figures coming up though, even though it may be the possible death knell for the 25th line for a while.
Quote:
Mindbender, for sure, is a kitbash... Look at the hip joints, those aren't even Joe construction hips. Wonder if some of him is from one of the newer Marvel construction? Wolverine, perhaps? His eyes are even custom-googly. But he gives me a lot of home for a finished product, as I like the direction that they've taken anyways. We should have gotten Mindbender long before now. The Range Viper seems to be the weakest so far, but I dig the lower legs shared by him and the Alley Viper, and I'm super-stoked that it's not the basic Viper legs we've gotten on too many "Vipers" already. The helmet on the Range Viper and his gear will be the deal-breaker on him, as he was always a kooky but cool Viper, if you ask me. And the Alley Viper is another weird-looking figure that was always simply badass, despite the odd coloring. His helmet will also alter his look quite a bit, but I don't think it's as crucial to the look as the Range Viper's helmet and gear will be. Lampreys seems to be over-designed from the original figure, if you ask me, which isn't a bad thing... The first was sort of too simple. Is his vest from some previously-released figure? Or all-new? The sculpting on the vest is awesome. Not sure what the Night Creeper's gear is made from, but it doesn't look finished... I'm digging the new head sculpts and helmets on all these guys though, especially the Lampreys and Night Creeper. I mean, I've loved the Strato-Viper since we first saw pics, but he's no less impressive. I just hope that we at least see these, and they aren't pushed like the other stuff we've pretty much been looking forward to, and basically promised by Hasbro. That part, them going back on their word (there are silhouettes on the backs of Wave 13 that we may simply not get anymore, not to mention released production pics of vehicles months ago) pisses me off. I tinkered with some of the figs w/Photoshop. See if you guys can spot the differences.

complaints? COMPLAINTS? Hasbro has really come through in my opinion. I definitly think these packs are ten times better than the extreme conditions packs. The Cobra pack kicks some serious a$$. I can't wait.

I really like them both....these will be pre-ordered as soon as possible. I'm only getting Snake-Eyes and Stormshadow figures from the movie line along with a Ripcord to make a custom Robocop and the Raven which will be my version of the Firefox. So these are the first things I really want to get a hold of.
This looks like it will be a light year for Joes that I want so I actually may get a couple of these sets (not too much into army building).\ So my question is like others......When are these coming and what about things like the outback/Flak set are they cancelled? |

Love them all. However I don't like the 7pack idea. It sucks that I am not going to see anything new in the stores for probably a year at least.
I have 1 more transformers universe figure to buy and then the new Joe 5packs and that's it. I REALLY wanted the Arctic CC/hiss driver as well. It REALLY sucks that they canceled the line before getting everything out. I hope we get both next year but I'm not holding my breath, :-( |
