John Eaves has an extensive resume with his work on Star Trek, and was a model maker on films such as Top Gun, Alien 3, Batman Returns, and most recently, X-Men: The Last Stand.

He always gets praise for having designed the Enterprise E. Yes, he also designed the NX-01 for Enterprise, but I'm sure the similarities with the Akira class were the result of Berman & Braga trying to be "cool" :p
His biggest challenge will be to come up with an updated and realistic look for Cobra. As well as coming up with a solution for Destro and his mask.
As for the Joe team, I'm guessing he'll have top fun designing Snake Eyes' "stealth" commando outfit (?)
