When you offer up an observation that inherently contradicts itself, yeah, I'm gonna call it what it is. "Hypocritical" may be too strong a word, so I apologize for that, but surely you can see the self-contradiction in deriding one thing for not being "realistic" enough but seeming to unabashedly accept the inherent lack of realism in the classic material/designs?
If you just like the older/classic stuff because you just like the older stuff, that's fine. But don't try to disguise nostalgic preferences as some sort of logical criticism.

I wonder why Hasbro is putting figures of characters not in the movie with vehicles that are in the movie?
Why not put an Arctic Scarlett or Arctic Ripcord with the Rockslide? Why not put a Neo Viper with the Mole Pod or Scarab? Man! I wish I hadn't sold my VvV Ice Sabre now! |

Nightraven....or should we call this the duplo raven? As someone said, it's one step up from playschool.
Very very very very dissapointed. Did I mention how dissapointed I am in this? Everyone was hoping for a revamp of the original mold with maybe a new paint job. There was so much potential here...what a waste. Skarab, understand why people don't like it...but cobra lacks any realistic jeeps of any sort so ill take what I can get at this point. The driver looks very cool. I could imagine the scarab as a cobra vip truck. still curious to see how much room there is inside. |

Actually, those of us who realised this was based on the movie realised it would be different from the 80's toy.

People talking about He-man? GI Joe is a sausage fest as it is, but at least they aren't wearing diapers trying to man handle each other in the woods with exposed nipples... with the exception of quick kick though.

I'm still holding out hope for a kick-ass movie Snake-Eyes. ...but I realize we'll get something crappy. However I'm one of the few that kinda likes the Nightraven. I don't have a logical reason... I just do! Quote:
Hey. Quick Kick already said that only happened once, and he's apologized. What more do you want from the guy?!

okay, me for one love most all of this stuff and most of what has been previewed!! but I think some things need to be cleared up about the concept of the toys and the movies,
1st, this movie takes place in the near "future" so it is not an 80's throwback of your childhood! 2nd, it is not "arah" movie , so any comparison to that is absurd, allthough it may be an homage to "those days" it is based "in its own universe" I for one am happy therewill not a bellbottom ,popeye lookin, bright color wearin shipwreck runnin around yellin yo joe on the battle field! 3rd and most important, this movie is called "rise of cobra" sooo you most likely think that cobra wont even exist in the beginning of the movie , but by the end it will! 4th as for the toy line , you must understand hese toys are not 25th and not 80s flash backs and not geared for the arah purist that wants to see all his favorite figures made, these figures are made to gear the young into joe and the movie, kuz lets face it a summer blockbuster isnt uch without a toy line to drive it, you have to have the kiddies in the toy store and in the theatre! 5th you cannot expect every vehicle to match "your view" of what you think is what should be made, most of te vehicles figures , ect. are riven by what is in the movie, if motor-viper drives a humvee in the movie he must drive it in the toy ect, 6th comparing this set of movie toys with the 25th line, the arah line the sigma line is like comparing apples and oranges! or a better comparison like comparing 25th to the new star trek figs, you cant do it! one has nothing to do with the other(other than names, ect.) this "rise of cobra" line is a stand alone line, there should be no armchair quarterbacking! or "thats not ripord" or "hey destro doesnt wear a mask" I think we should keep the nay saying turned down until we see it and make a final judgement then, but all we have to do is keep some things in mind , its a different universe(joeverse) lets call it an alternate universe! these figues are great when you see them in person and most will change your mind when you see them in the store! and most of all its the birth of cobra, as a matter of fact , we really havent seen much of what cobra will actualy look lke! who know maybe it will evolve into your classic arah! |

I guess no one else agrees with my assesment that the Scarab's roof slides towards the back and buries the missile launcher in the rear compartment. I thought it looked obvious
