I am really liking these. I am a fan of the 80s Joes, but I'm not blinkered in any way, so I can enjoy these 'new' TOYS for what they are.
Seriously, some people here need to take a breather - if you get so worked up, go find something else you enjoy for a bit. Not telling you to quit or anything, but if you feel the need to make those who DO like them feel like they are in the wrong, time to take a break.

Like the Night Raven but wish they had thrown the drone in there too. Looks like I'm skipping on all the others tho.

Which movie vehicle looks garish? So far they all seem to be in fairly dark and/or subdued colors with relatively simple paint jobs. I'm even betting the "baby blue" segments on that Ferret pic that leaked a while back are going to be recolored to something more subdued before release. |

except driving down the value of the original is good for the community. if you have an original and aren't planning on selling it, the value is irrelevant. if you are a collector and want to get one, the lower value the better. if you are selling one, tough luck. that's the risk you take.

You know, Hasbro is handling the "Movie Expanded Universe" figures and vehicles better than I thought... I figured it would be predominantly rehashed crap from the VvV line (okay, so some of it IS showing up) but I didn't expect new molds for much stuff not appearing directly in the film...
I never had a Raven as a kid, so I'm not as partial to this one, but I think for an "update" it looks pretty badass and true to the spirit of the original one. It's sort of like how TF Classics has taken the old figures, and updated the design, while generally staying true to their color scheme/design of the originals. Granted, the original Night Raven WAS badass, this new one's not bad if you ask me. Maybe not an improvement, but it's definitely not as goofy as the other 3 vehicles in this set of pics. I'm betting the lights are those red spots on the side, and those 3x2 things on the back look like silver buttons, and would make sense to be at the rear of the plane for the sound activation/lights/etc... Solid location for proper battery/electronics storage, as far as the design of the thing. The Hummer looks kind of movie-ish, and not as hot as the updated Raven. But that driver makes it worthwhile. I really dig the Strato-Viper (even in the repaint scheme) and Motor-Viper... The Motor-Viper seems to have a more modified helmet than some would like, but the gear at least looks pretty similar to his original design. Either way, both the Vipers look like they fit into Cobra. I don't dig either of the silly snow vehicles... They're too rounded and look like toys more than the other two do... Plus, really, I'm not that big into special terrain equipment or figures... Especially these. All-in-all, it's given me some more hope for the toy line. At least in the aspect that Hasbro WILL be sneaking some classic-styled figures into the movie line, so I'll be picking and choosing for my openers, and who knows, they may re-issue these down the road as part of the 25th/ME line. At least not all of the movie toys will look like the ridiculous movie main cast like I feared. |

I'm liking the Night Raven & SUV, but come on now hasbro!! Don't give us Valor vs. Venom vehicles to save a buck. Cheap F'ers.

To everyone that is dying for a drone... A manned drone would look huge!!! on that smaller Raven. It would be as big as the whole back half of the plane! I'm glad they stopped w/o making it look silly.
