What's funny, if we had seen the movie and Hasbro didn't make the Mole Pod, everybody would be whining,"Why didn't Hasbro make the drill thingie! That was one of the coolest parts!"
As far as spring-loaded missile launchers go, THROW THEM IN A BOX! Every vehicle we've seen that has them can be removed or hidden, and every figure comes with another weapon besides the missile launcher.

Is Hasbro ever going to get it? The best years of GI Joe were 1982 to 1985 maybe 86. After that GI Joe didn't see popularity again until they started releasing the toys from 1982 to 1986 again with the 25th anniversary line.

This is how Hasbro plains on bringing back GI Joe to the mainstream and getting this generation of kids into it ........with this? This little piece of junk? Hasbro has failed again. Everything I have seen so far from the movie line is terrible.

No, G.I. Joe was popular again in 2002 when 3-3/4" joes were finally brought back to mass market, and in 2005 when Sigma 6 premiered. 82-86 is predominantly popular with RAH fans, but that doesn't mean everything else afterwards wasn't popular in general. That's like saying joes died with 12" in the 70's, and everything else afterward didn't matter.
Also to judge the Hasbro's entire plan to reinvent the brand, by one small cannon fodder vehicle is short sighted. We haven't even seen the heavy hitters yet. Most likely this will not be the most popular vehicle on shelves. The most popular vehicle will probably be the Night Raven and gunships in the movie. As for the 2nd part, well I hope you are right. I have seen a few things other then this drill pod thing and I am not real optimistic. But again, I hope you are right and they come out with bigger and better stuff. To be honest.....I’m very doubtful. |

I really hope this line dose a good job and the line sells well to the kids. It would be great to see children playing with joes.
I also hope they make movie toys aimed a adult collectors too

I would not hold your breathe on the so called "heavy" hitters, they usual outcomes with over sized action firing missles really plays out big time on LARGE vehicles. Imagine the purpoted night raven with 10-12 gigantic spring loaded missiles fused to the wings. All I nkow is if they put this movie garbage on some of this stuff they need to include model master paints and altenrate body parts so we can mod right out of the box the figures and the vehicles if this is going to be what we get. They tend to want us to do that anyway with this set in particular...just paint the missile silver... feh.... give me a break!
Without kids this hobby we all love will die. Just wait for the full line to start calling it a fail. There are, for real, some Heavy Hitters that us collectors will be all over. Little over 2 weeks to go. Wait For IT!

They brought popularity back but not like it was in the 80's.

As for Star Wars, its mostly kids I see buying those toys. Every now and then I'll see a collector like us buying them, but most of the time its kids. |
