Hi guys just got back from toyfair, were in for a treat, they showed 5 mins of footage showing alot, this has stopped any fear I had about this project, first up they showed us the toy range
MUCH MUCH better than what we have seen on the net,the packaging on the figs has painted versions of the movie stars similar to normal joe blister packs, the sculpts are bang on of the actor's likeness. Staff Edit: Descriptions deleted at request of Hasbro *STAFF EDIT: ADDED UK TOY FAIR PRESS RELEASE!* Paramount Pictures and Hasbro have reunited to create another worldwide blockbuster franchise, this time featuring the action, adventure, and characters from the legendary “G.I. JOE VS. COBRA” saga. Hitting UK cinemas on August 14, 2009, “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” focuses on an elite G.I. JOE team that uses next-generation spy-tech and military hardware to fight the corrupt arms dealer DESTRO and the growing threat to the world from the mysterious COBRA organization. Hasbro literally created the action figure category in 1964 when it launched the G.I. JOE toy line. Over the course of its 45 year history, the brand has evolved delivering different adventures to generations of kids. The popular “G.I. JOE VS. COBRA” saga, which the upcoming movie and toy line are based on, originated in the early 1980s and followed the heroic G.I. JOE team as they battled the evil COBRA organization. This era of G.I. JOE featured 95 TV episodes and 155 comic books and introduced such memorable characters as DUKE, SNAKE EYES, SCARLETT, the BARONESS and STORM SHADOW; names that will be synonymous with action and adventure again in 2009 as the G.I. JOE VS. COBRA story is reinvented for a new generation. The G.I. JOE 2009 toy line includes: G.I. JOE MOVIE 3-3/4-INCH MOVIE FIGURES G.I. JOE was the world’s first action figure, and the highly detailed movie-line 3 ¾-inch figures continue this great legacy. All figures are sculpted to match their on-screen counterparts, including Sienna Miller as BARONESS, and Christopher Eccleston as DESTRO. Figures come with high-tech gear and projectile launchers, allowing kids to fully recreate all the action from the movie. SRP £7.99, Ages: 4+, Available: Summer 2009 G.I. JOE MOVIE VEHICLES This awesome collection recreates the larger vehicles from the upcoming G.I. JOE movie. They represent the most technologically advanced vehicles in the G.I. JOE vs. COBRA arsenal and each is equipped with a hidden reveal weapons system. Designed to traverse a wide range of terrains, each vehicle comes with an action figure to help steer your team to victory. Last edited by Shin Densetsu; 01-29-2009 at 08:41 PM.. |
