Well he is the master of disguise after all, so I bet that means he has more than one look...I wouldn't worry too much about that yet.
It would suck if he just wore a suit the whole time...everyone wants the classic Zartan.

Press Release from UK Toy Fair:
Paramount Pictures and Hasbro have reunited to create another worldwide blockbuster franchise, this time featuring the action, adventure, and characters from the legendary “G.I. JOE VS. COBRA” saga. Hitting UK cinemas on August 14, 2009, “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” focuses on an elite G.I. JOE team that uses next-generation spy-tech and military hardware to fight the corrupt arms dealer DESTRO and the growing threat to the world from the mysterious COBRA organization. Hasbro literally created the action figure category in 1964 when it launched the G.I. JOE toy line. Over the course of its 45 year history, the brand has evolved delivering different adventures to generations of kids. The popular “G.I. JOE VS. COBRA” saga, which the upcoming movie and toy line are based on, originated in the early 1980s and followed the heroic G.I. JOE team as they battled the evil COBRA organization. This era of G.I. JOE featured 95 TV episodes and 155 comic books and introduced such memorable characters as DUKE, SNAKE EYES, SCARLETT, the BARONESS and STORM SHADOW; names that will be synonymous with action and adventure again in 2009 as the G.I. JOE VS. COBRA story is reinvented for a new generation. The G.I. JOE 2009 toy line includes: G.I. JOE MOVIE 3-3/4-INCH MOVIE FIGURES G.I. JOE was the world’s first action figure, and the highly detailed movie-line 3 ¾-inch figures continue this great legacy. All figures are sculpted to match their on-screen counterparts, including Sienna Miller as BARONESS, and Christopher Eccleston as DESTRO. Figures come with high-tech gear and projectile launchers, allowing kids to fully recreate all the action from the movie. SRP £7.99, Ages: 4+, Available: Summer 2009 G.I. JOE MOVIE VEHICLES This awesome collection recreates the larger vehicles from the upcoming G.I. JOE movie. They represent the most technologically advanced vehicles in the G.I. JOE vs. COBRA arsenal and each is equipped with a hidden reveal weapons system. Designed to traverse a wide range of terrains, each vehicle comes with an action figure to help steer your team to victory. |

obviously it is an educated assumption. but now you are getting into licensing, which is a different matter. I know, I work in entertainment licensing.
if Hasbro has trademarked the name Roadblock, and they clearly have, they are the owners and are the ones who would be the ones licensing it out, not prevented from using it. if they license out a Joe movie or comic or any other merchandise, they can prevent the use of the name, but that wouldn't be Hasbro having a problem with the name, it would be the licensee having a problem with it. big difference between the two. part of the licensing agreement DC had with Topps provided Topps with exclusive rights to a Batman trading card, so DC couldn't allow another company (or themselves) use it for a card series. again, that is a licensing issue, not a trademark issue (in the sense you want to make it). so, even if Hasbro is preventing Paramount or IDW from using the Roadblock name, that in no way is Hasbro having a problem with the trademark which they clearly have, or else we wouldn't be getting so many Roadblock. hence, my educated assumption. Point is, I think there's a reason that we're seeing Heavy Duty's name where Roadblock's is clearly what is called for.

um....zartan in a suit...NO
destro in a suit...NO cobra commander being DR.mindbender that's just wtf? I could have designed better costumes for.....well everyone in my sleep. these people don't understand how to translate fiction on paper to reality on the Big screen. whatever dumd $hit ruined the look of an already exciting universe should lose their job in the film industry. "less is more" should have been the concept floating around the studio. and no ones talking about snake eyes's slacks which might be the funniest $hit I've seen in a while.he needs gathered pants...he looks like a gap ninja lmao! and also making everyone black takes the impact out of the classic gi joe image (you see all these camoed up soldiers and then boom! you got this mysterious black figure with them.) this thing may be a good watch but its by nooooo stretch of the imagination GI JOE. |

someone at Hasbro thinks Heavy Duty is a better name, for some reason. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that Hasbro had an audience for Sigma 6, even if it was minimal, and they want fans from that era to recognize the character. to them, Roadblock would be completely new and has no meaning. for us, both characters have meaning, it is just that Roadblock has more. so, Heavy Duty wins out because he has meaning with both groups, whereas Roadblock only has meaning with one. |

why does zartan not look awesome?
they should have had him kinda like the joker in dark knight. the joker in that movie was always disguised. zartan is a paranoid schizophrenic he could wear makeup and a hood and not be that unrealistic. i wear makeup and a hood and im not that unrealstic. |

The Doctor was the character I was most excited to see after reading the script. I like the breather over his face, but I imagined his face more scarred and his head bald. that would have been more villainous. I am excited to hear his raspy voice, though.
