Heavy Duty instead of Roadblock is silly, if you ask me. But this movie will have much bigger problems than names being wrong. Peter Jackson, Sam Raimi, Bryan Singer and Chris Nolan are awesome directors... (Okay, so I didn't so much like Spider-Man 3, but 2 was a dead-on "updated" classic, as was X2 and both of Nolan's Batflicks... And LOTR and King Kong were excellent adaptations/updates)... TF was a tolerable popcorn flick but lacked any real story or characters, but Michael Bay is a terrible director and quite possibly one of the biggest douches in Hollywood... He's successful at making big boom summer blockbusters though, whether they have a soul or not. Likewise, Brett Rattner and Stephen Sommers are pretty much hack directors... I think that Transformers, X3 and GI Joe could have had a lot more realism while sticking truer to their source material without being silly, but somehow they just couldn't pull that off. |

Samuel L would make an awesome Stalker. I always saw Stalker as a much older character. He would definitely be a green badger right now.
And since he's having trouble in Nick Fury negotiations....sequel's lead character. |

I guess I'm the only one spoiled as to why Zartan would be wearing a suit in this one.

Half the characters look decent, the other half, I just don't get.
They wanted it to be more realistic, but they already look dated more than the classic figures. If they'd done more or less "bank heist" guys like the classic blue-shirts with a little S.W.A.T. mixed in, it would have looked a lot more believable than these "It's 2009, so let's make them all have Super Suits and REALLY SCARY manufactured masks". It would have been more believable if they dressed them in existing gear, or stuff that doesn't look completely alien. Those Viper masks just look too corny-manufactured. I admit, the old Joe stuff was ridiculous. Laser troopers, and jetpacks are nonsense... But if you strip away that silliness, and have a more "Cutting-Edge Elite Military Force vs. Corporation-Funded-Terrorist Organization" feel to it, I think it could have been a lot more serious, and yes, I do believe it could have been pulled off with the right storyline. Instead, what they've done is try to fit too many characters in, THEN not do them justice, and instead of having a lot of 1982 silly sci-fi stuff, they've replaced it with 2009 silly sci-fi stuff. |

I think it has something to do with a black guy, or any guy for that matter, but it doesn't play well ESPECIALLY when he's a black guy, to call the character "Stalker". Political correctness. Sorta makes sense, if you ask me.

Aaron Burr: Got Milk? You're right though, for a big budget commercial, he's great at it. I guess with the 80's Joe cartoon being a toy commercial, he'd do great. Actually, I wish Bay had done it instead of Sommers. Transformers seemed like a military commercial... In fact, he has a great relationship with them, which is why and how he is able to fit so much military stuff into his films. He also makes the military look like hot shit, which is undoubtedly why they allow him such free reign to advertise for them. |

Holy shit... the Doc looks TERRIBLE. The Keanu-esque hair is a BIG mistake. Should have shaved his head... would have helped with confusing you into thinking he's the "Mindbender" of the flick, which of course he ain't.
Other than that, I guess we'll be getting some neat toys. Even if the flick ends up stinking, the toys, I'm sure, will be badass.
