What I was liked about the original Special Missions comics was that we got more obscure characters like Alpine and Airtight. This looks like the same cast as the main line - Tripwire, Scarlett, Beach, Mainframe against Baroness. Yawn.

Really looking forward to it, Dixon is at his best when he focuses action and is more plot driven.

I appreciated the original Special Mission books because it was grittier than the main RAH book, and it had primarilly one issue stories. The main book had the long drawn out story arcs. Now the main book/s are already gritty, and it appears this version of Special Mission will have long drawn out story arcs. So I'm not sure why this is needed. I will of course check it out regardless.

I really like the Mains/Red relationship. Its been a long time coming.
Also, Tripwire is my favorite character. Never thought I'd say that. F***ing ever! But he and Beachhead are an amazing team. I really hate Scarlett as a leader. And really the women Joes in IDW all together for some reason...I don't know why... |

The original Special Missions did shine with that four issue story arc that started out in China and ended up with a Tomahawk extraction. I'd like to see a series of gritty but cerebral action stories that are closer in plot to a decent war movie than a FPS game. I'm looking forward to this!
