I don't know if this is true or not, but I heard through the grapevine that the Crimson Guard in the comic pack will be the traditional crimson color. I don't know if this guy actually knows something or if he is full of crap, but since the figures not making their debut are susposed to have brighter colors I could see this being true.

^^Could've just been looking at the posted images and using the swag method to come to that conclusion too... Doesn't look any different to me though.
For what it's worth, I like this version of the Guardsman. Bright red should be saved for fast cars and firetrucks. |

It's no mistake, they wanted to make it a less cartoon feel color. As for the comic pack, it may be a shade brighter, but I think they are going to stick to this new color for them. Which is still Crimson...just not CRIMSON. LOL
When I put all 4 different makes of the CG's (original, VvsV, DTC, 25th)together, the DTC CG looks similar in color to the new one. The shades between all of them just seems to get a tad darker.

The DTC Crimson Guard pretty much blew in every way possible (I did kinda like the headsculpt). I love the sculpt of the 25th CG I just wish they would have stuck with the orginal color, hopefully down the road they'll do it right.

For reference: Zartan wearing a shirt and Serpentor not looking ridiculous are not wrong either. I dunno, I guess I'm just tired of certain elements of figures being complained about because they aren't identical to the originals, and I'd rather see Hasbro focus on actually creating figures that 'look good' rather than trying to conform to a toy from 1985. I hate the fact that the Stinger Driver's helmet logo is unpainted because it was unpainted on the original release. I hate the fact that V2 Storm Shadow has those ridiculous grey marks all over him. I hate the fact that the kneepads between the guys in the Legions pack aren't uniformly coloured--even though that's really got nothing to do with toys from 1985. This also does not mean that I think they should be doing new stuff for the sake of doing new stuff, or that I'm happy with every change. For example, the new HISS comes with that cruddy Cobra Trooper repaint with urban camo on his pants, and the rumour is that a HISS Driver is coming out soonish. And that makes me sad. At least I can use the Urban Trooper for a gunner, though. |

It's not just the orginal 1985 version, It's the 1991 Immortal, 2002 CST Tomax, Xamot, Baroness and Viper, Operation Crimson Sabotage Cg's, Crimson Guard Force CG's, The crimson Guard HISS and Crimson Attack Copter (along with the Tomax and Xamot in pilot gear figures). Even the DTC Crimson guard retained half of the orginal color. The 2008 Grimson Guard is a pale rust color reddish brown. When compaired to the other Crimson figures it doesn't fit in and looks like crap IMO. What I'm saying is there is a history there, they sould have retained that element above all on this figure. All my be not lost though, the wave 3 comic pack at least looks to have the right color. If it does I will easily buy at 30-40 of them. If not just 1.
So if your listening hasbro make the CG in the correct color. |

Here's another example, when Master Collector Made the 2002 Con set they went back and redid the the color because it was wrong. They knew that a crimson set should be the right crimson color not fuschia. The same holds true here. The new CG should be crimson and not rust colored. I wish more people who have the figure would speak up, so maybe hasbro will do something about it. It would make the figure look about 100x better.
