A friend of mine got to play one of those troopers in the scenes filmed in Bethelhem, Pennsylvania (bout 30 mins from me.)
I got to watch and be part of the enjoyment of seeing Bay kick off the shooting near my hometown at the old Bethlehem Steel building. Got to see the mock Brit SAS dudes, and what the Blackhawks, Ironhide, ARCEE, an AUDI, some cool 3 wheeled trikes, and an Ice Cream Truck. And some other Buell motorcycles. Also got to see how they block out where and when the CG robots are going to be integrated into the scenes, which to my amazement was as simple as: "there's gonna be a Autobot/Decepticon battle on these "X" marks in post." The battles are all spray painted on the ground and marked with spray paint lines for ballistics for the post CG mocap, so there's reference points. Also present were Josh Duhamel, and Tyrese Gibson. It was awesome. But kept raining like a bitch on and off. And Michael Bay had to keep stopping and starting, with the rain. Was late at night, and about 10 hours a night worth of shooting and 8 hours in the day for prep. What's cool is those JOE looking suits are actually helpfully engineered by the Autobots as they share their tech with us. So, the military has become joined with the Autobots to create an amped up defense system. |

Does this mean we can look forward to a Joe/TF movie cross-over comic book? Or, a-gasp, a film?
the first is more than plausiible, the latter, highly unlikely |

BTW those costumes on the Soldiers shown are completely accurate. That's what they look like exactly.
And my pal is a reservist in the army so that's why they took him aboard, with a bunch of other reservists in the National Forces. All the other extras were Asian. As Bethlehem doubles for Shanghai. |

Don't really look like Steel Brigade, to me. They've got too much armor, and the helmets don't look like either the original head, or the glorified paintball masks the newer SB figures have had.
Still look pretty cool, and I'd love to see them done up in 25th style construction. |

Don't forget the first TF movie was originally supposed to be a crossover.
