Okay guys, that's enough bashing on lldjslim.
I think we have all made our point. Lets get back to discussing this vehicle (love it or hate it). Also something else you guys can discuss is the custom possibilities of this vehicle. I think it would be cool if someone repainted it for Cobra. |

Wasn't this line created for the collector?
To everyone who thinks this vehicle sucks, it's not that bad. We got a year and a half of fan service! What in God's name is going to make you naysayers happy? The movie is going to be different, if you don't like it that's fine, but why crap on this vehicle? It's not vintage so why do you care? You know the movie is not going to follow closely with the comic/cartoon visually, so just get over it now. |

Thanks for the kind words. When I see something like that spolied little woman you just described, it makes my blood boil. While what I went through wasn't exactly a cakewalk, what the previous generation, the guys who got shipped to Vietnam, went through was unimaginably worse And the thanks they got when they came home was being spit on by spolied brats like her. They should have been welcomed back as heroes.

On the toy,I prob be more accepting of it if the paint job was more detailed in parts, and the giant Joe logo on the side was removed or made just a wee bit smaller so it doesn't signify "Cobra, aim all support fire here". It defeats the purpose of having a camo paint job if your going to announce to the world who you are in the same paint job.... Thats like taking a bush on cobra island, hiding Recondo in it, and putting a GI Joe banner on the bush.... Even kids question this kinda activity on toys. Its not so bad on the older toys, as they were stickers, with typically small sizes or on non-camo items mainly. Tiger force doesnt count, as that's not really a viable camo paint job anyway.
On the mom, nuthin new. Growing up, I knew a couple of kids who's parents felt that way. They are typically just too few and far between to do any real damage to awesome toy lines. The same kinda parents still tend to expect their kids to just play with Lincoln Logs, chemistry sets, Connect 4, and the latest Disney based movie toys and games, or read the bible alot. When I was a kid, these parents had their groups of complainers go on tv and rant about how damaging GI Joe and TF was, war toys were the seeds of evil and embodied killing, and even how Cabbage Patch dolls made girls wanna be teen mothers. I even saw bits of kids protest on old mini news reports on Nickelodeon, how they would buy and destroy GI Joe toys. When that kinda stuff failed, they also came up with new groups and 30 min PSA shows showing how bad the toys were made and functioned, that like the Cobra Mamba made no sense, that its blades were hard to turn. The the Cabbage Patch bath time dolls would retain water and make a mess forever, and the normal run of the mill jelly filled baby dolls would puncture and leak easily. All in all, typical nonsense from the fun nazis. |

Once again sir you have hit the nail on the head and drove it home with one swing. I am glad to see there are still people in our generation who have not been fooled by the propaganda and lies of the left wing liberal agenda that is poisoning are glorious country in these troubled times.
I always thank them for what they did and I usually pay for a couple round of drinks with them. They stuff they tell can make a man like Kimbo Slice feel like a cross dressing fairy. Some hard core stuff. I would never tell a kid toys glorify violence since we grow up with it and it makes us what we are and it also gives us a choice of what we want to do with it. As for parents being self centered, when my mom found my playboy stash when I was 11, she said she's glad it was playboy and not playgirl. If this sounds confusing, it's because I took a Vicodin/Ambien combo, so I'm feeling good right now and ranting is not easy in this form. |

i still am shocked by how sub-par the sculpting is on the skis/launchers ~ looks like KO quality...
literally the ski/launchers and Track pieces llok like they are from a different toy then the body to me due to the dip in quality.

I think that's the thing that a lot of people lose sight of when they down-talk the "haters" of the new vehicles. The older stuff actually looked like plausible military vehicles. The missiles and guns were in scale with the rest of the vehicle, and the vehicles actually had some detail. Most of the new vehicles we have seen (from Spy-Troops on up) don't even look realistic. They are just big solid chunks of plastic, with over-sized guns and missiles, and zero attention to detail. If they had actually tried to make this look like the image from the movie, it had some potential to be cool. Make the ski smaller, put small missile racks on the side, and make the guns more in proportion with the vehicle...along with a little bit of detail (engine covers and whatnot), and this could've been a winner.

That being said, I hope this movie succeeds like gangbusters, even if I personally end up hating it. If it is successful, then G.I. joe toys of all makes and variations will end up being made, including a lot more of the 25th anniversary line we all love, because parents will buy anything with the G.I. Joe logo on it for their kids if it does.
Anyways with the Rockslide, the only things I am disappointed with are the missle launchers. It would be great to have swappable components that are movie accurate, so that I could leave the launchers off and have more movie accuracy. |
