I just observed a mother and young son in the toy Isle at Wal-mart. The boy had Christmas money and was picking out a toy. I was kind of eavesdropping thats how I knew about the Christmas money. I heard something during the course of the conversation that scared me a little. The kid picked an off brand action corps play set and said thats what he wanted.
The mothers response was do you want to play little George Bush and send men off to die in a war. She told him he couldn't purchase a military toy and instructed him to pick something else. Do any of you think this antiwar sentiment is shared by other present day parents, and could it possibly effect sales of the new movie line. Sorry for the long post, but i thought this was interesting and wanted to pass it along for everyones consideration. |

Interesting. I don't think that will hurt the sale of Joes, who have been around a long time. But you never know. What did he end up picking out?

I don't care if my son wants to play a game or with toys that glorify violence because it's what goes on in the world. I grew up watching war movies, faces of death, and role playing combat. With the exception of the old lady writing checks in the express lane with 25 items, I don't feel the urge to kill anyone. |

I respect people's ability to choose, but let the children decide what toy they want.

Judging by the pics of that Rock Slide vehicle prototype, That thing is a piece of sh=t.
Well Hasbro, we all know that your a buisiness and all and don't give a rats ass about releasing things for the collector as long as your making profit, but you just threw away your meal ticket. Well, to put it plain and simple YOU JUST KILLED GI JOE. You see it looks like the crappy era of GI Joe vs Cobra, Valor vs Venum, Spy Troops has returned. I see the crappy action/sound attack is back also. Well its been a nice run w/ the 25th line and it was fun while it lasted. Now its time for the new crap to take over and I think we all understand why. Because it looks like Hasbro is trying to make the GI Joe brand name reborn again but this time w/ a new generation of kids. I will bet you that Hasbro will probably get McDonalds to promote the movie. But there still might be some hope left. Us collectors can only hope that the: the movie will flop the video game flop the new toy line will flop If any of those three things are a sucess and hasbro starts raking in the profits then we are finished for good. So until then I will see you all in the year 2032 if Hasbro desides to do a GI Joe 50th Anniversary line. I'm out and it has been a good year. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
