I'm getting at least 2
He looks pretty awesome. I do have some gripes about this figure if I compare it to the original vintage figure and cartoon images of Matt Trakker. The major thing is the dark grey Mask which should be light grey. I am sooo going to customize one when I get him. Probably in these steps to match the cartoon version: 1) I will remove the dark grey breastplate and see if the brown straps underneath are looking good, otherwise I will make a hinge for it. 2) Cut the upper strap which goes around his neck. 3) Use some green stuff to make the zipped open jumpsuit closed around the neck. 4)Paint the custom parts and the red waist belt in light grey. 5)Retool the Spectrum Mask a bit, mostly around the visor and add a cowl to it. 6)paint the mask in light grey, the cowl & area around the visor red and the visor dark blue. |

I am totally jazzed about this figure! I just got back into Mask about a year ago and love the nods this figures has (Especially the Condor nod with the backpack)
As for people mad that this was a wasted spot, look at it this way: Head - new (But could be easily reused as Chuckles, if so, at least he wouldn't look like he's suffering from Jet lag anymore ) Body - Ace, Wild Bill (Nothing wasted here, just repainted) Armor and helmet - new (But could be reused for a Techno Viper or some other Cobra army builder) Backpack - Annihilator!!! It's a 25th modded Annihilator backpack, perhaps they'll make a new 25th style Annihilator figure to go with the backpack and bulk up Destro's army The only thing that may or may not be able to be reused for GI Joe is the Armor and Helmet I don't think that took too much away from any figure we might get |

Perhaps offer a recolored version of an Iconic Vehicle, Thunderhawk comes immediately to mind, Pair it with a smaller vehicle like Pirrahna. Generate Hype for a few months prior to release, maybe release comics included in other Hasbro Toylines to stimulate interest in Kids and Not yet adult toy collectors. Perhaps use the small fold out catalogs inserted into toy packages back in the day, (these always got me so excited about my toys) Put the Two pack on HasbroToyShop.com and If they are satisfied with the profits made there, try a different toyline (Inhumanoids) or different vehicles from the M.A.S.K. cannon. I usually take Hasbro's info with a grain of salt. I think at this point last year they said they would not release any Tiger Force or Python Patrol figures...
And don't get me started on the Star Wars stuff that they have said they would never do... I'd guess if the response is there, they'd do a new line. I just don't think it will be there. And I think they know it too. But I've been wrong before and I plan on being wrong again... |
