Not to mention he's really the only character IDW has really properly developed. Everyone who's read IDW really knows Chuckles and I think thats whats appealing. Scarlett, Flint, even Duke and Snake Eyes... you could swap them out of their storylines for each other and it wouldnt make any difference.

Now no writer can ruin him as a character in IDW continuity. The way he went out was beast. I dug the way he was developed.

Somewhere I read the team would include villians. I expect Major Bludd to be at least one of the villians.

IMO this is thee most perfectly written and emotional read in IDW history. I was shocked with the death of CC, but now getting more of a backstory from Chuckles and his words from beyond the grave...it made me realize how much I was actually connected to Chuckles. When he began working undercover, I liked his new "mythos" but this single issue made everything come to light...and of course, the foreshadowing was tremendous.
There is a passage there that reveals how long the last CC was in power...something to think about, considering that this new Commander, pretty much came in and re-structured Cobra in his own way in a matter of months. The other commander, laid hidden...this one has no qualms to let the world know he is here and in charge. With the new downsizing and restructuring of the Joe team, this version of Cobra is promising to be one evil bastard organization. Can't wait to see how the Joe's get themselves out of this one!

| Agreed. As much as part of me wishes he wasn't dead, so we could read more, the other part understands it's for the best...

Comics just don't work that way.

| Super hero comics work differently. Characters are never truly dead so the reader never gets the sense it's over for them, once and for all...

Also, a character doesn't have to "come back to life" in order for someone to write more stories about them.
