Joe Live Action Movie Script Update The Los Angeles Times has published an article on projects that writers are working night and day to complete the final scripts. Of note is the Quote from Lorenzo di Bonaventura on the G.I. Joe Movie 2009. Quote:
"Given what's at stake and the time we have left, our writers on every project are working under inhuman amounts of pressure," said Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who is producing "G.I. Joe," Paramount Pictures' would-be tent-pole movie for summer 2009, which as of last week hadn't even been officially greenlighted.
In September, the "G.I. Joe" team hired "Collateral" scribe Stuart Beattie to begin a total overhaul of the script. Beattie turned in his first draft by the beginning of October and is now busily working on a second set of revisions, which are due back to Paramount on Oct. 31.

Stuart Beetle can handle both smart and exciting stories, and Stephen Sommers is a great adventure director who can stage exciting situations and make it entertaining for all age ranges. I think this movie has a good shot at being better than Transformers, even if it doesn't have the appeal to outdraw it at the box office. |

I just want to know what the budget will be for the film. I think $150 Million is a good base. With that kind of cash behind the film Sommers and crew can do some great work and lets hope the CGI gets done over at ILM. |

That's a lot of pressure...

I also hope they're not rushing the creative process so much that they forgot to read the comics.

Joe can do that audiences have never seen before or that hasn't been thought able to be accomplished before today's state of effects. but G.I. Joe can be a much better movie because it is ultimately about people and can have more emotional core that, combined with great effects, daring adventure scenes, and action, will make it a better movie.
but the concept of large transforming robots is more interesting from an average movie-goers perspective, IMO, than a military movie. |

I hope they translate that to film well.
