You know what, I am SOOO tired of people saying how much this movie sucks when it's not even out. You same people will be the first in line to see it. If it sucks so bad, don't go see it, don't rent it, hell don't post about it. Instead we all have to hear another year of "this movie WILL suck so much", followed by months of "man. that movie really sucked". Oh my God, get over it. This movie was not made to give you a geek hard-on, it's made for mass market appeal. Like it or not, it will not be like the cartoon, or the comic book. Cry a little and move on already.

I'm not saying this movie sucks. I haven't even seen a trailer yet. However, some of the things we have seen so far have given me a little cause for worry. I will in fact be there on opening night (probably at midnight) regardless because I want to see it.

But the whole tag of Neo Vipers baffles me. I am sure this will be answered in the movie (hopefully), but if CObra doesn't exsist, how can there be Vipers? Unless they are from the end of the movie, I don't know.

I want to have high hopes for this movie, but stuff like this makes me shake my head in bewilderment.

And if they wanna show this off for the first time, how about a better picture? He looks like he's in the bathroom, for crying out loud. A posed shot with a giant Cobra sigil behind him would have been way cooler and not that difficult to do.

Although they answer to McCullen, they're called "vipers" because of their "creator" and his methods: the character named "The Doctor".

And yeah, I don't like this very much... but keep in mind it's a backstage pic and so on.

Right. Not trying to judge it too harshly. So Gentleman, have you had a chance to go over the script that leaked? Is that how you know about the Vipers and how they are named. I'd like to hear more about this "Doctor" who is neither Mindbender or Venom. Go figure, lol.

I dont think this movie is going to completely suck per say. I just think they may have gone too far off track with the story line and the characters that it may backfire on them with the GI Joe fan base. It will probably be a good Saturday night popcorn flick though

Honestly, I'm a bit underwhelmed. It looks kind of dumpy and not terribly dynamic. Of course, it may end up looking good when we see it in motion. Time will tell.

Either way, it's not going to deter me from giving the movie an honest-to-gosh chance.

I remember there was something involving snakes for these Neo-Vipers. There's "normal" Vipers too. I don't remember if snakes had something to do with the "creation" of Neo-Vipers or if they were just used to test how these super-troopers were poison-proof.

Either way... a possible answer to the "why are they called Vipers" question could be that "the doctor" just named them that way. Maybe because snakes are involved in the procedure or maybe just for the hell of it. Or maybe he likes snakes.

Hopefully as we get closer, we'll get some better pics of Cobra troops (or MARRS troopers, whatever lol). I really wanna see Destro and CC. Those 2 are really gonna set the tone for me.
