As a comic fan, I appreciate the touch, but I can see why people would not necessarily like it. At least you didn't go all fanboy and complain.

Guys, not trying to be a Hasbro defender or Mattel Defender...but how can either company be blamed for the lines to pick up product? With the sheer amount of people at SDCC, can't it just said that things suck because of the massive amount of folks on line, rather than the companies themselves?
I blame Hasbro because they're the ones sending folks to another room on another level just to get tickets to come back down and get in the exclusive line. Then they're telling people to leave the exclusive line and come back later. I don't blame my friend for giving up after all that. Especially when you have only one day to enjoy the event. I do, however, continue to blame Hasbro. They knew what happened last year, they knew how many people were going to attend this year and they still weren't prepared.

Regarding the Best Of pack:
I don't mind this Duke. Why? He's got fixed arms, and the TF Duke is kinda useless and ugly in my book. Yeah, the screaming face is jokey, but I'm just gonna put another Duke's head on that body. I like the bolder colors. I can definately use this figure, and I prefer a fixed Duke to not take up another single-card spot. CC? Yeah, I'm sick of him. The shiny helmet is awesome, though. How could anyone not like this figure? I can accept him in this pack far more than the one in the Ultimate Pack. He's not a selling point in these sets. Again, I do like the helmet, though. Alpine? A must, of course. Cobra Paratrooper? Cool. Don't think I'll even try to army build him, but he's okay. So is the $20 justified? Maybe. I need the MASS piece, which I'll price out as the same as a figure at Target....$8. Same with Alpine, which brings us to $16. Are the fixed Duke body, CC helmet, and extra Cobra Trooper worth $4? Heck yeah. In other words, this is a pretty good pack for me. |

what's the deal with the Build Your Own Joe? Sorry, if it's been discussed. I just missed it somewhere in the chaos.
I don't mind dreads on Stalker. He's one of my favorite Joes (easily Top 5). The dreads don't change that. They seem like a minor change to me. He still looks like Stalker and will certainly act like him. I don't see the big deal. It will be interesting to see how many Resolute figures/vehicles make it into the line. How many waves will we see? They mentioned the vehicles being in-line with the movie designs, so we'll see those next summer. |
