Yes, but I believe the term is "bring the rain" as in the firepower coming from it has been described as "steal rain" because it can quite literally shower bullets on it's targets. However, I think they removed the mini-guns off of it now IIRC.

Well, THAT was fast. Ordered mine Tuesday, and UPS dropped it off this afternoon - fastest I've EVER seen TRU online ship ANYTHING.
Loving it so far, though assembly directions would've been nice. Most of the included stickers gotta go, but they're not peeling quite as easy as I'd hoped. Still, nothing I can't get past. Next step after that is hitting up Cobra Stickers to see what they've got that'd go well with this. Don't want a ton of stickers, but a few small things, and something for the tail would be nice. Maybe even an Ace and Wild Bill name stickers for under the cockpit... No bothering with the side guns right now. This sucker is a troop/cargo transport, not an attack plane. Joes got enough of those already. Won't happen soon, but man, I could be convinced to buy a second one and try my hand at painting it up in Cobra Blue. So VERY tempting... |

Saw this at TRU the other day. I was quite impressed with the size; too bad it's not big enough to fit a VAMP/Stinger and similar sized vehicles.

I was getting a beer and an ice pop from a Chinaman on a tricycle when he presented me with something special. It was a pretty fair 1/18 scale C-130. Not sure if it was a rejected New Year present or a stolen one. Either way for 10 US dollars I took the beer, ice pop and plane.
After a bit of research it turns out that this plane is a copy of the True Heroes AB 115 Shark. The plane came with some trashy figures that had police on their uniforms but had been dipped in green paint. Unfortunately two rotor blades were already broken straight out the box, but hey ho, you can’t return something from a dude who sells stuff out the back of a tricycle. Might glue 'em. Obviously the color scheme is camo green not the Shark’s grey. Other differences include, lamentably, the fact that the top of the plane doesn’t open and there is no control panel or seats. You just kinda huk the figures through the door and let them rattle around. Also, the electronics are different, the buttons are on the side and instead of the side guns lighting up there is a lonely little LED on the top of the plane. But its red and most aircraft do have such red lights. Hard to say what came first the AB 115 Shark or this thing. The box is 90% in Chinese but has some English and Spanish labels, possibly just to add credibility for the domestic Chinese market? Equally, on the side written in English is ‘Peace Keepers’ a likely reference to the World Peace Keepers line, but this is not the official Chinese brand 'red faction' that does issue the PTE stuff. I’m gonna guess though that this was a first generation mold of the Shark, skipping out on the added cost of an opening top and seated interior is the hallmark of a copy, but then again, why would they bother to re-design the electronics? I think it’s more likely that this was an early version but some factory CEO said, for the western market add some more playability via the roof hatch and give it more noise and lights. Instead of lights and an opening hatch, the picture on the box shows the plane covered in flames, which might look cool to some but to me it looks like the plane is crashing. The lucky Chinese consumer doesn’t get any weapons or accessories but they do get a random little black and white comic book about a peasant farmer village kid helping communists fight the japs in the 40s- and no the plane isn't in the story, I checked. Anyway, just thought I’d share it…… http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...ml#post4895938 |

Zombie thread.
I just got one of these, and it is pretty cool. I used a combination of glue and green stuff to permanently fix the computer console and pilot in place. I didn't expect it to be designed for Joes, but the cockpit is just a big bench. I wish there were like foot pegs in there or something, so I had to glue him in place. Anyway, the seats actually worked very well. I had been saving a bunch of those clear rubber bands, and I used them to belt my passengers in their seats. I also glued a figure stand to the floor so that I could have one Joe standing up. Peeled off most of the stickers, because they suck. I left the shark mouth and the computer console stickers. Gonna replace them with something GI Joe. Otherwise, it is quite nice. The pieces can easily be disassembled for transport, but they are very large and extremely sturdy. The fit is perfect. Nothing is loose or floppy. I had to use three monofilament wires to hang it. The hardest part was figuring out where to put it. I ended up using a window because it had a hard wood frame. I've got some other toys hanging from the ceiling, but this one was so big I didn't trust it to bear the weight without finding a stud or some kind of hardpoint to drill into. |
