Nice. But why is Duke speaking Spanish?
And I'm confused about Tripwire and Sneak-Peek. I see Beards, Mustaches and then nothing? I figure they were in disguises and just pulled them off when Duke called them off. I'll take my no-Prize now.

I thought this issue was a total mess. I'm done with this book. I gave it four issues, which was three too many. I'll take my chances trying to follow civil war with just the two decent books, Cobra and Snake-Eyes. At least those two books are being done by a team that knows what they're doing. :(

agreed. the editing or lack there of is quite confusing. Also, are we to assume that "Roadblock" is the Heavy Duty character from GI JOE origins? It seems like each book is doing it's own thing without respect to the others.
Like how can Helix be at the Pit during the SS/Zartan invasion, and simultaneously with Snake-Eyes in the mountains? That being said, I am still very interested in the book and look forward to each subsequent issue. I just wish that the editors would be more careful. |

Cover B is stupid.
And I've been saying it for 4 months now... the main book needs better art. This looks like sloppy 90's Image artwork. Characters aren't recognizable and facial expressions (and proportions!) are all jacked up. No, I can't draw better, but I can name 100 people that can. |

Mostly i have been a suporter of IDW's work, and i'm enyoing a lot of the Cobra and SE series but the main book is a total mess, the editor of this really needs to look at it and get to work. really poor work.

I still maintain this book needs a new voice. Dixon for some reason has been fine on SE, but has just been borderline since the launch of this title.

It needs a new artist. Saltares is technically solid (storytelling, perspective, etc..) but his characters all look the same. And some don't even look like they're supposed to.
As for the timeline, not every issue of each title occurs at the same time. Tomax goes from Joe #3 (end of #4) to Cobra #3 awhile later. Helix goes from Joe to SE. Part of SE #1 occurs before Joe #3 (because Lawhound is still alive).

Agreed. Dixon, who was weak and awkward at times in Volume 1, has now kind of been exposed for his strengths and weaknesses. Snake Eyes is going along fine, but a good team book seems to be totally beyond his capabilities. Find a new writer ASAP or good luck finding new readers. The art? Since I know the guy I won't trash it. I still think it's light years ahead of Cobra, which is borderline kindergarten art, but yeah, it is just as far back of the Snake Eyes art.

Funny but i think Cobra's art as "simple" as must appear to some, conveys more emotion and drama than regular or "proper" comic artwork.
I agree with finding another writer and artist for this book, and frankly another editor. |
