"Brilliant?" That's an overstatement if I've ever heard one...mediocre at best, I'd say. Dude couldn't write his way out of a paper bag. He just goes for shock value, is all. Just because he references intercourse with a goat in one of his works and you're surprised by this doesn't make him "brilliant" or even "edgy." Just stupid, and only betrays his lack of knowledge or consideration for the source material.

I'll probably enjoy this little toon as an action cartoon fan, but I doubt I'll enjoy it as a G.I. Joe fan. |

I see your point but I get what they're trying to do. I like the idea of a new start with it and this would give them the opportunity with no "baggage".

This is the kind of corporate mentality that drives me nuts. This is a fan-based property, and bringing in someone who has no knowledge/love for it makes little to no sense to me.

i don't get where killing beloved characters for shock value, or to drive a story is new and refreshing. i seem to remember that is why tons of people said the devil's due comic was bad. they killed a ton of characters and nobody liked it, i was a fan of the comic and i did not like it. you can't just start killing characters off and say oh this is hard core gi joe. all successful action shows don't just kill tons of important characters for shock value.
just my two cents i guess. i like the pg 13 aspect, but not if it turns out to be a story about killing core characters and blowing up the flagg. i can do without that |
