Hi Peter,
Thank you for contacting Hasbro, Inc. We are pleased to be able to respond.
Thank you for your inquiry into G.I. Joe figure availability. The response to the recent line of G.I. Joe figures has been amazing and we are very appreciative of the fans for their enthusiasm. Production has increased dramatically, but so has the demand. We are making more figures and will continue to increase production in the future as needed.
The Hasbro brand team hosts a Q&A session every other month on several of the G.I. Joe fan sites. We’re big fans of our fans are interested in what they have to say. If you have questions for the brand team regarding the G.I. Joe line, this is a great way to reach out to them on an ongoing basis. In addition to having a Q&A with the major fan sites, attending JoeCon and ComicCon, and hosting a collector event at Toy Fair, the GI Joe team is in continuous contact with various members of the GI Joe community to keep their pulse on what the GI Joe community wants. Our goal is the same as yours, to get great figures into the hands of our collectors! |

I'm still seeing what appears to be limited quantity on the shelves. Other than the peg warmers of Scarlet and Buzzers and some comic packs. I found my local Target and Wlamart with 4-8 pegs and are completely empty.
The demand was high from the get-go Hasbro! I honestly feel that Hasbro is not making enough or some kind of communication barrier with the retailers.

With regards to troop builders, please check out Toys R Us this fall for two brand new troop building sets in addition to the two from this spring and the new Senior Ranking Officer Packs. So far we have offered troop backs of Cobra Troopers, Crimson Guardsmen, Red Ninjas, Iron Grenadiers, and Green Shirts and we will continue to support the troop building community.

So I went back to them and told them while I appreciate the response I'd really appreciate if they addressed the points brought up. Like availabilty and pricing. We'll see if they respond back.

Wave 9 and up will be plentiful but patience is the key. As far as pricing is concerned, Hasbro sets a SMRP and the stores (Target, Wal-Mart, et all) set their prices. The last I heard, the cost for a Joe figure to, lets say, TRU was around $3.50 (this has gone up some) so Hasbro is not 100% responsible for the price increase. Remember one key ingredeant is oil. |
