Pre-ordering is the way to go and then when you do find something, like a few extra BATs, then it is just gravy.

One can afford this because of many factors. Primarily, one's income. And yes, that stimulus check also help funded my 25th collections.

As for investing in CD, I concur! As a matter of fact, I have a few of them.

Not to say i'm any better, but the 25th Joes that I buy is strictly for my personal enjoyment and collection. Not to off load it on eBay or such.

I wouldn't call that "Clearing out an entire store" playboy. Because I did not bought ALL of them. Just got what I needed.
Close enough playboy. Yeah just about cleared out an entire store.

As for the demand by the Joe fans and proof, hmmm.... I wonder what prompt Toy r Us and Target to mark-up the 25th to $7.99?
Again, you tell me, before the things even came out, who was looking forward to them? Did it consist of the majority of the buyers now? I would not be surprised at all if the majority of the buyers did not know about the damn line until they saw it on shelves. A few months after the line came out, a bunch of new members joined the various joe forums, and the common statement was "I've been a joe fan since childhood and haven't collected them since, but I walked into the store....". At the same time, it would not surprise me at all if most of the buyers were not collecting 3-3/4" since the 80's and didn't even notice the "new sculpt" line from a few years back. Sure you can say people like you demanded the figures but how many collectors are like you? Maybe not as much as you think.

Btw, are you from Macrossworld?
Yes

If I managed to get 100 each of the Snow Serpent and BATS, I wouldn't complain. However, if I should find none on the pegs since the release of wave 9, of course i'm going to complain. Shoot, I only have 1 each of the Serpy and BATs.
I want a Snow Serpent and BAT, haven't even seen wave 9, and don't plan to army build any of them. With that said, I've gone to stores that still haven't got that wave, and if they do get them soon and sell out, I won't complain. I will get them eventually and I am in no rush.

I thought the comic packs had gone up about a dollar or so?
They might the Star Wars ones did not too long ago.

Not quite close enough playboy. I mainly wanted the Cobra Vipers for army building.

I do see your point about the majority of the buyers though.

Btw, what do you think about the new Macross 1/60 line.

I'd go ahead and put out there that, just maybe, Hasbro is losing money on the comic packs.

I'm going to use Transformers as an analogy here. In 1996, Beast Wars gave us the first real standard price point system. You had the Basic at $5, the Deluxe at $10, the Mega at $15 and the Ultra at $20.

Around Armada or so, this was redesigned slightly. You now had the Basic at $7, the Deluxe at $10, the Mega at $20 and the Ultra at $25, roughly. This has mostly remained consistant, with the addition of the Super/Leader price point at $40 somewhere during Armada.

It has been theorized that, basically, all the other TFs have gone up in price over the years...except the $10 Basics. A lot of us think Hasbro is purposely losing a little bit of money on them to keep them affordable to us.

^ This.

TRU is habitually higher on a lot of their product than Walmart or Target. So price increases on their product isn't anything to take note of. Their Transformers Deluxes are $10.99.
