Short Fuze originally did have a visor, but none of the 25th anniversary pictures show him with one. He has glasses now so I don't think he'll have a visor.

As for Steeler, at the convention, he had a clear visor. Maybe that visor was meant for Short Fuze. Hopefully that's the case. The new Steeler though has Cobra Soldier arms though so that is an improvement.

I don't know if I'd be all mad just yet. There are some big differences I've noticed form the pics we saw from Joecon to these.

In the Joecon pics, Cros Master's Croc had 2 or 3 gashes on his snout. None in these pics.

In the Joecon's pics, Junkyard had a removable collar. Here it's a molded collar

Nemesis Enforcer's wings are a solid color in the Joecon pics (and in the pic from where people have him in hand) and painted in thses pics

Where is the desert themed Flint in the mock-up box set for Target?

All the figures in the Ultimate Battle Pack box set seemed to be glued in place.

I understand how mad I'd be if Hasbro screwed up my favorite figure (lotsa people seem to love Dusty), but let's wait till we know for sure which version of the figures we're getting before getting all mad.

The figures we see in these pics just don't seem to be the finished product.

Time will tell

I think the "In Hand" pics of Nemmy suffer from a bright flash. You can see a slight difference in the color if you look hard enough.

But yeah, most of these pics appear to be proto pics

Some observations:
after comparing to YoJoe that Slipstream is a lot closer to the original then i thought.

it's a little thing, but i am really annoyed the CG 5 pack doesn't have the braid in gold. they are so close to the perfect CGs...

i think they could have come up with a more interesting combo for Deep Six v.2, he just looks a little too "ariel" and not "liquidey" enough.

looks like Cutter and Starduster get TF Flint arms, yay!
Love Starduster. really wish they'd have done cutter a new head, seems like you could get some milage out of the ball cap.

Really getting annoyed at the trend of including ONE new character in these multipacks (Dusty, Starduster, Quick Kick, Cutter, Short Fuse...)

Really dig the darker-hued Stalker and Crimson HISS in the UBP. bummed they're dropping the tan Flint. The Black Trooper is kind of cool-but-random (i'd have gone with a Crimson Trooper to match the tank) not into his red straps though. Destro and Cobra Commander are total wastes. 1 or the other, sure, but both in one pack? another Tele-Viper would have been nice. HATE that the MOBAT doesn't even remotely fit the new figures.

The internet 7 packs are awesome, So glad they (apparently) dropped the lame Croc AVAC for another CG.

Does the Bazooka Troopers web gear have any basis in Joe fiction? i really like it, and they used a similar idea on the 12" Cobra Trooper. just wish his blue was the same Hue as the earlier troopers (same with DVD Cobra Commander) cool design, i'll get 2 if i see them at retail.

Please Hasbro, PLEASE redeco Para-Viper. like someone said in an earlier thread, this is the kind of deco that drove a lot of us from the line. Blue with red and grey accents and he'd be awesome. Purple with neon orange and lime green? not so much.

Finally a great Duke (with fixed articulation) kinda funny that he's on his 3rd pair of Binoculars. Mutt and Junkyard are fantastic.

Do you know if Slipstream has a new head? It looks like his head is from a Tele-Viper or Tripwire. :-s

I hear ya on that one. I'm used to Hasbro's shameless ways, but this is balls-out even for them. Roughly 62 figs shown at the con, and only six had significantly new tooling (by my count). Of those, four have been stuck into pricey multi-packs. Way to reward your loyal customers, Hasbro! >.<

Man, the colors of EVERYTHING in that UBP are random. Green tank, red tank, blue trubble bubble...I'm not even going to list the figs. O_o I hate that the figs are way out of scale with most of the vehicles too, it just looks cheap.

I've read all the comics and seen all the cartoons, and while it's been awhile, I don't remember seeing a B-trooper. It's probably something the design team thought was cool/cheap to produce. I've seen that bazooka before, I think with an Indy fig.

I agree with you on the Para-Viper, the colors really hurt the fig. It's like one of the assholes that killed the line back in the early '90s with the neon decos somehow managed to sneak his way back on to the Joe team, heh.

i don't mind it at all when it works (ala the awesome kitbashed vipers and troopers in the desert/arctic sets) but i'm annoyed i'll likely be dropping a $20 for Dusty and Quick Kick since nothing else in those packs is of interest, least of all the DVD. at least that new headed Cobra Commander is nice AND has two hands :p

yeah, Cobra Troops with RPGs and Bazookas weren't that uncommon in the early comics, but i don't remember seeing that web gear before the 12" Cobra Trooper. i do like it.

That's a bummer for Slipstream fans, as that is likely the only version of that character that will be produced for the forseeable future. I'll be waiting for that one to go on clearance if I buy it at all. I think that repaints/kitbashes/retools are ideal when used for troop builders. What I hate is when Hasbro puts a new head on some other guy's body and tries to pass it off as that character. Now they aren't even doing that, so it will be interesting to see how well these sell.

Well, regardless of which version of these figs we get, I see a lot of stuff, but not a lot of NEW stuff. I hope Hasbro shows some new singles at SDCC, because as of right now I don't have a whole lot to look forward to.
