That's true A.V.A.C., most 25th collectors it seems want it when they first come out or before(from china). I don't mind the wait when I have them on preorder, just not ever finding them again bugs me.

$7.99 really isn't that bad considering Star Wars toys have been that price for quite some time (I know kickback goes to Lucas).
Plus, Meijer stores have charged $7.99 for Joes since the 25th line launched, so for those with a Meijer near by, "you" are kind of used to paying that. I don't believe the price on singled carded figures will raise any higher than the $7.99 price point. I can't agree more with everyone's feelings though: Every little penny counts, so this increase with gas prices will surely curb my collecting practices. 7.99! Shut the hell up! how dare you defend that price hike! you must be in with THEM! You... You...... Collaborator! LMAO I had no idea.. that the SW figs were 7.99.. I thought they were 6.99? I haven't really collected them since they were 5.99 back in the POTJ days in 2001 when I coudn't find SHIT in the stores. I wish they had a site where they had a LISTING of all the figs. or checklist like hiss tank... I am still looking for all the ewoks (paploo, Lumat, Romba, Wicket, Logray.. FUPOS,SKIPPY,Herman,Steve,Billy,Juan,Ernesto.Dave. Simon.Joey..... Ect ect ect. I love those guys :( |

With a price hike that high, I'm out. I never had any Joes as a kid (I'm 37) so nostalgia was not a factor for me. I started picking up the 25th Joes because they had really great sculpts and you got a really cool figure for $4.88. I could deal with the price hike since then, but $8 for a basic figure is really pushing it (even more ridiculous when you consider minimal tooling costs and no licensee fees). If the price hike bleeds into other brands I'll probably cut my loses on the new Indy line and just stick with the one who brought me (Star Wars). Look for my complete loose figure set in the classified in the next couple days. Ryan

At $7.99 I will be hard pressed to justify paying that amount. More so because everything else is going up too.
I am glad my addiction seems to be waning with the increase in prices. Give me another shot of Joes! |
