Since they hit $6.84 I haven't bought any. I have only bought the comic packs. My Walmart still has those at $9.88. So ya I am on strike already for 2-3 months. I also heard that Target was discontinuing the coupons because people were using them for stuff other than toys. KMart & Meijer is still $5.99 & that is where I will do my shopping.

Meh, I think they can pressure them. Hasbro can reduce the MSRP and that would likely cause Target to reduce their asking price.
If we stop buying Joes from Target, Target will stop ordering them, which will in turn cause Hasbro just as much loss to profit. Hasbro has to stand up to the retailers, just as we do. |

when you go into a target, walmart or TRU and Find no Joes on the shelf that's how you know something is hott! I mean all I see is WWE figures,starwars...etc. and there still on the shelf which means there not selling. so a hot product like GI JOE is really a no-brainer to raise the prices on.
our wallets should hate the higher up's raising the cost on GAS not joes plus you can't eat plastic figures..

It's probably not a coincidence that since July is the month the new 4-inch Star Wars line launches at $7.99, Hasbro's other 4-inch lines (Indy & Joe) have been raised to that price point as well.

oh yeah its a sign of the times. Its all going up to $7.99. Blame the economy or the oil. It don't matter. But what it tells me is I will scale back on what I buy. I'm not a completionist so I don't have to buy everything.
Yet, I've heard a rumor that Target will now pull more figures out of the stock room now cuz they're getting an extra buck fifty! |
