Oh, and the accessories are pretty much sniper rifles and nothing more.

I'm glad you like the new figures, but I can't ignore the blaring flaws.
I realize that some people might not like the new figures, but to say that Hasbro screwed the pooch on this is kind of odd considering that a lot of people seem to like them and they can't stay on the shelf (at least where I live). You can't please everyone, but to me it seems like Hasbro is trying really hard to make a kick ass line here. And while I agree with some of the things you are saying, to denounce the whole thing as a failure doesn't seem exactly right either.

Stores around me only got one case each thus far...I've read on other boards that it's pretty much the same way all over the place. So, a supply not meeting the demand is hardly a sign of a "hot product."

Also, how many of those that are flying off the shelves are the boxed sets, of which stores seem to have received infinitely more?

Oh, I'm not saying it's a total wash. I like SOME of the things they've done. For instance, I think the articulation is a step in the right direction. I just don't see how they can fail to make a product that's consistently better than something they made in 1982, is all.
