I was involved in a move and didn't have time to post a question. If it's not to late is it possible to have this question put up for consideration? " Can Hasbro do a preorder for their Joe line? Some companies do this so they know how many to make for the consumer.

This is the problem I have with people who are being "optimistic" and knocking thoose of us who are down on the movie and the costumes and characters who have been photographed. The reason we are not optimistic about the future of the line is because Hasbro has the opportunity with these Q+As to come out and clearly state that yes the line will continue, yes the art will continue etc etc... instead they feed us jumbled answers and expect us to interpret positive news in regards to the future of the line. Because they cannot do that, and because every indication that the toys based on crappy movie power suits will suck, I therefore am pissed and will continue to be pissed until three years down the road if and when this line ever returns. And if the movie toys bomb because a large segment of the collecting community passes on them like me there is a chance the line we like now wont return. And I am not going to buy crap marlon wayans figures just to ensure a classic one down the road. That is extorsion

Unless i missed it, at what point did this stampeding hoard of people that you speak of state that they are selling their collections? Theres a big difference from choosing to no longer collect and selling a collection.
I for one am happy with the state of things as of NOW. IF, i decide to no longer collect how does that effect what i already own? I'll be keeping that. "Hasbro doesn't suck so badly" as you state, but if they change the retro look, no i won't miss them.
Also, i guess i missed this as well....... Who's saying that the movie is going to kill the 25th line? They're two separate entities. Leave them separate and they'll both be fine. Incorporate the two and it'll die, plain and simple. My reasoning is a couple pages back, read it if you'd like.
This is nitpicking. Personally, i stated that "for the most part" the 25th line is a "mirror image of what we grew up with" and it is. Is it exact? Of course not, but it's pretty freakin close. I'm extremely impressed with what has been accomplished so far and would hate to see it change.
I love the updated look on the actual figures and besides some MINOR changes the card art is the same. Start messing with that and this whole slew of people who started collecting again for the simple fact that these had the retro look will drop off like flies. The allure is gone at that point. May sound crazy, but mark my words.

also, everyone should take a moment to remember this line was supposed to last for 10 figures. and we are ending up with like close-to-or-over 100!!!
and given it's success + looking at what happened with TF Classics there's no reason not to believe they will continue it in some fashion AFTER the movie line. it may not be the complete nostalgia trip of the 25th line, but i'd be very surprised if early '09 marks the end of ARAH redux.
My 25th Most Wanted List:
1. Tunnel Rat <-CHECK! 2. General Hawk (v2)<-CHECK! 3. Leatherneck <-CHECK(kinda...)
4. Jinx 5. Dusty <-CHECK! 6. Snow Serpent <-CHECK! 7. Tele-Viper <-CHECK(kinda...)
8. Falcon<-CHECK (kinda...) 9. Footloose <-CHECK! 10. Recondo <-CHECK!
9 down, 1 to go ~ but i really want a new Leatherneck and Falcon

Some of us support G.I. Joe (and Hasbro) regardless if it's the "25th" or not. The fact that it is G.I. Joe is what counts. A name and brand we have come to enjoy since our childhood's. Don't get me wrong, I think the "25th" celebration is very cool and has probably, scratch that, definitely has brought the Joes back into the spotlight. But to write off the line before you have seen ANYTHING is just plain stupid.
Fine by me if you decide to stop collecting once the movie line arrives, I'll still be supporting the Joes until the end.

Do you read what you post? YOU said it was going to kill the line. Next time, try harder, please.
And for a refresher...
So... you work for Hasbro? Let's break this down. Aside from the fact one of Hasbro's questions that they answered was that basically they handle EVERY SINGLE PROPERTY DIFFERENTLY... (We view each property or brand separately as each needs to be handled in a way that works best for the individual brands. We have no plans for a common format at this time.) there is absolutely no reason for anyone to believe that they are going to handle this like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, or Transformers. They haven't said how they're going to handle it, other than they're releasing classic and movie figures together...
In Star Wars, they focus on the movie that is being released at the time. As for the new Clone Wars movie, they actually do have concurrent lines running, one for classic movie stuff, and one for animated Clone Wars stuff, because they are indeed different styles. However, there is no reason to believe they will follow the Star Wars business model. Are GI Joes articulated and styled like Star Wars figures? Nope... let's move on.
Indiana Jones. Here's a great example of what they COULD be doing. The initial release has two waves of single carded non-deluxe figures. One from Raiders of the Lost Ark. The first Indiana Jones movie, lest anyone forgets. The other is of course, for the new movie. The next two waves (maybe even waves after, they haven't shown anything that far in advance) are BOTH for the other two Indiana Jones movies. Out of four waves, one is for Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. So... even though these figures are more articulated and styled to resemble Star Wars figures, what is to say that they won't follow the way they're doing these, for the GI Joe figures?
And lastly, Transformers. They restyled the figures, and gave them new packaging when right before these figures were released there was a successful "classic" line. Well, there's good news. They're not changing the articulation, style, or any way the figures themselves are for GI Joes. Sure, it will kind of suck if they change the packaging, but... we don't know yet. To say they ARE going to is remiss. We can say its going to suck if they do, which is the truth. Also, this line is a great example of integration. There are a ton of non-movie characters in this line. Lots of TFs that aren't in the movies, in the movie styling.
The bottom line is this: GI Joe is not Star Wars. Its not Indiana Jones, and its not Transformers. How they are going to handle the packaging is still up in the air. How they handle what figures they release? Still more than a year away. We can say its going to suck if they change things... but saying you're going to quit or picket or throw bottles or firebomb Pawtuckett already is really stupid.

YoJoe: A lot of collectors are both excited at the success of the line and exceptionally disappointed in not being able to find figures on the shelves. We know Hasbro is not responsible for retailer inventory, but have there been any updates on Hasbro's end to help get the figures into more stores more often?
Hasbro: We keep making more and it keeps selling. There are a lot of new figures coming this fall and we are making a large amount. We have dramatically increased production and figures should be easier to get your hands on.
YJ: The obligatory comic question - will fans get an update on who holds the comic license soon? We're all quite nervous we're going to run out of comics in the not-so-distant future. (editor's note - question was submitted before IDW Press Release)
Hasbro: IDW has the license and if you saw the work they did on Transformers, you know you have nothing to worry about.
YJ: Any possibility of a Sneak-Preview line of movie figures similar to what was done with 2005's Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith or 2007's Transformers Protoform figures?
Hasbro: This is an idea we are investigating, but are not ready to discuss yet.
YJ: We know that the 25th Anniversary collection is the most detailed figure design in the history of 3 3/4" G.I.Joes. Is there any possibility of seeing more "vintage" styled figures, like those produced by the Official G.I.Joe Collectors' Club?
Hasbro: No. We have made the leap forward with better articulation and detail and there are no plans to look back. The club will continue to offer product for fans who interested in this expression.
YJ: The Star Wars brand recently announced a premier collectible line from Hasbro, starting with Force FX Lightsabers. Is there any room in the market for premium collectibles associated with the G.I.Joe brand? Maybe like helmet replicas or something equally as snazzy!
Hasbro: Right now there are replica Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow swords available. For [the] movie, we will be evaluating options and licensors for high end replicas.

It's times like these that I really appreciate the fact that I'm an opener. Sure the 25th packaging is hellacool, but it lasts only long enough for me to get it home and open it up. Hasbro has already confirmed that they're keeping the 25th style for the movie figures. So long as there's some classic looks mixed in with all the X-men super-suits, I'm happy.
Forget it Jake, it's Hisstank.

I thought the Premier line was also going to include that $150 Millenium Falcon? Which isn't a replica, per se....it's more of a really expensive toy. But Hasbro's answer just talked about replicas.
Hello, who cares about helmet replicas, how about really expensive toy sets? lol
