I've been pretty vocal about this project lately and I must say that I had completely written off this project a few weeks ago. But with the official signing of sommers and beattie and the info in this article, I am proudly back on board!
Everyone here should know that we played a part in this by voicing our opinions. The same thing happened to transformers last year and had all those fans kept their mouths shut and took what hollywood would have pushed out, then optimus would have been a freakin' yellow ferrari!!
These suits in hollywood read our posts and gauge our opinions and the thoughts of all the fans. If this were politics, we would be their "special interest" group!

Sounds like some great news to me. I have been reserved for the most part on the GI JOE movie and will remain that way until more in unvailed, sounds like it has gotten off on a good start.
We can reserve judgment until this is in production, but it certainly bodes better than trying to make something specifically designed to appeal to global masses and not to offend anyone on the entire planet.
When you try to please everyone, you please no one. Better to just do it and make it how it should be made. Time will tell, time will tell.
