you have a point, but i hope it does discourage most of those theives out there who have been doing it in the stores it sux to get home and open a robbed comic pack!

I think the best solution is to require receipts with the Doc stickers. For a while there Hasbro required them with some Star Wars promotion and I think with the mail away Storm Shadow Unmasked offer. I knew that stolen points would be a HUGE problem when I read that receipts weren't needed.

After awhile, I would take my newly purchased Comic Pack up to Customer service, and open it there. That way, I would'nt be pissed to get home and find a tampered package. I could just return/exchange it right there.

They're trying to help the situation, which is cool, but I'm afraid it won't do a whole lot. Delay thieves by a few seconds, at the most.

Target and KMart both don't do anything other than staple a return reciept onto your old reciept though. As far as I know, the only retailers who mark a reciept after a return are Wal-Mart and Meijer. I can't remember what TRU does, though.

Point being, you can still use the reciepts from certain stores for that, and if they're just getting the stickers, they don't particularly care what store they buy the comic packs, at. And lastly, they could just resell them on eBay, as well. Claim that they didn't know the comic pack didn't have the sticker, too.

All in all, not requiring the UPC on the box was a subpar idea. The Indiana Jones Crystal Skeleton is at least in figures that aren't as easily resealed, and the Captain Rex promotion for Star Wars required the UPCs. Only the 12" Indy mail away is as bad (if not worse, because its a ton easier to open the 12" figures and reseal them as if nothing happened) of an idea.

Also, quite a few people buy on-line or on ebay, and would not have a receipt. I do not think that should stop them from obtaining a DOC.

i must live a charmed life, i have bought at least 40 cpacks and have never had a missing sticker. or maybe it's because that's all we friggin' get here and the odds are high.

a noose is a thieves neck-tie, burn them all alive to light the roads to Rome.
(forgot who said that, but it's a good one)
