I didn't claim they were, you did. apparently you are not only ignorant of the definition of naive, but of your own argument. naive would be believing nobody steals them, which I've never inferred. like I said, if you are going to bait me into something, at least be correct in your insult.

and if you are going to overstate things, such as "won't do ANY good" then at least have enough dignity to admit to it when you've been called on it.

I think maybe he was referring to this definition of naive.

deficient in worldly wisdom or informed judgment; especially : credulous = ready to believe especially on slight or uncertain evidence

Not that it really matters as this apparent argument is based on semantics. You guys could just chill out and agree to disagree, no?

Cool, and now back to our regularly scheduled discussion on the baggie the comic comes in.

I for one think it's a good idea, even to slightly hinder the jerks who steal those stickers, or figures, or what-have-you.

I'll admit that for some it won't deter them at all, but for others, it'll be too much of a pain in the ass.

I'd also like to thank Hasbro for at least trying to secure our stuff for us from the thieves and scalpers and jerk-offs.

All stuff that's been said before, just wanted to reiterate so the thread doesn't get derailed.

It won't stop people buying them, taking them home and then returning them, but it should stop the casual thief nabbing stuff in the store - which was very easy to do before.

I applaud Hasbro for this because at least they are trying to fix the problem, but when it comes to thieves they will do whatever it takes to get what they want. I don't think this change will stop them one bit. It might make it a bit harder to try and steal the Doc stickers in the store, but nothing is stopping them from making the purchase and returning the comic packs to the store without the stickers in them.

Just look at all the repackaged figures. So far we've seen G.I. Joe comic packs with Corps figures, Star Wars figures and everything else in-between. No one is stopping them from doing that. Repackaged figures are obvious because you can see the wrong figures right away without having to open them, but the people at retail stores could care less just as long as there are figures in the package and that you have your receipt.

The only thing that has changed is that it will take thieves longer to steal the Doc stickers. Is that a deterrent? Time will only tell.

We don't have much longer to go with these Doc stickers anyways. I wish Hasbro would have just stuck the comic packs on the cards in the same manner that they use with the single carded figures. At least in that case it would be a lot easier to tell that the package was indeed tampered with.
