You're actually promoting the hiring of an unemployed pro wrestler in the G.I. Joe movie? Over Brendan Fraser, a guy who is at least likable, capable of being funny, and has done a decent action flick (The Mummy)? Really? I know Fraser is never going to win any Oscars, but a wrestler?
I can count on one hand the number of decent roles ever performed by former pro wrestlers, and have three fingers left over. 1. Jessie Ventura in Predator, which didn't really call for much. 2. Andre the Giant in The Princess Bride And you want an out of work steroid-junkie to play Gung Ho? read what i wrote. read it again. and again. the stuff you didn't understand is called 'SARCASM.' one that would fit the bill EASILY is Steve Williams, aka, Stone Cold Steve Austin...( another wrestler was using the williams name ). he can act. i'm pretty sure he's available. i also said USE brendan fraser...but to think a 6'2, 200lb man can pull of a special ops marine who's been very large and bulky in EVERY adaptation EVER...is a bit much. besides that, this part is a CAMEO. you might pick up a few wrestling fans to come see old Stone Cold, or whomever. isn't that what we're hearing about the 'changes?' fraser is a better actor than a bit cameo. give him a role he can work at in the sequel. for God's sake. i tried giving the man a compliment. |

I still think Glen Huges would be the best GungHo. He's a dead ringer. Look at him! Tell me he's not! http://www.mtv.com/news/images/archi...eather-uni.gif |

I'd add the Rock in Southland Tales. The story and the movie are really, really weird, and not everyone's going to like it - but given the character he had to play, The Rock does a really good job with the acting.

There's a difference between "making my mind up already" and being an apologist fanboy who will lap up any tripe you throw at me if it has the name "GI Joe" or "transformers" on it. Sorry, I have standards when it comes to films. |

I didn't think of the Ram. When I first read that, I had visions of his cameo just being him riding from one end of the screen to another, while juggling little balls, to the tune of Yakkity Sax. In fact, most of my obscure thoughts tend to involve that song...:P

wow...i'm scared to think what you guys did with your gi joes.
i just watched the interview with Fraser. the man could play Al Gore in the Al Gore movie. he looks like him... too bad Al Gore isn't a Joe. nah, but anyway, he seemed pumped about it. i hope it's a good part, but not gung ho. |
