Maybe the story should be that 25 years ago our president sold a bunch of weapons to Arab nations and then 25 years later using those weapons,they waged a holy war on countrys without the same beliefs as them, all the while being lead by CC. Now GI JOE has to fix this mess. haha Maybe to make it more fictional the president from 25 yrs ago could have been DESTRO(what a twist)

Besides, when they do the silly extended titles, it makes it hard for newcomers to automatically know which movie in a series to start with (as the movie franchise progresses). At least with the simple numbers, there's no mistaking the order ("Hey, I just watched GI Joe 3. It's time to pop in GI Joe 4.").

Using the Hulk example: the first movie is "The Hulk." It files under H. The second movie is "The Incredible Hulk." It files under "I".

Even the extended title doesn't help. Let's use the Aliens series. Story order: Alien, Aliens, Alien3, Alien Resurection. Filing order: Alien, Alien Resurection, Alien3, Aliens. Batman's even worse, but I can't remember all the titles.
So, secondary titles are great. But including enumeration really helps to keep the order: Pirates of the Caribbean, the : the curse of the Black Pearl. Pirates of the Caribbean 2, the : dead man's chest. Pirates of the Caribbean 3, the : at World's End. Story order and filing order is the same.
So to make me happy, it'll be G.I. Joe : <title>, G.I. Joe 2 : <title>, and so forth. | | |

That way when it sucks and they revamp it and do it right, they can call it GI Joe and no one will assoicate it with the flaming poo being thrown at us. 
Seriously though, the pictures I've seen remind me of "Rollerball" mixed with "Street Fighter".
