Better Suited Actors For Joe roles

Just wondering who we all feel would be better suited for the various Joes in Future movies. Outside of Duke the rest of the cast from Rise of Cobra was fine IMHO so my list only updates Duke and adds folks I would like to see in the future.

Duke : Howie Long (will be 50 in 2010) Square Jawed classic solider look.

Flint : Jamie Bamber (BSG Apollo) even though he is British he fooled me for 6 years on BSG with his voice.

Lady Jaye : Kate Beckinsale (Underworld) Looks great in leather/vinyl suits and can act.

Stalker : Tyrese Gibson (Transformers 1&2) Unless they want to go with the Resolute Dreadlock look that is. If that's the case I am clueless as to who to put here.

Roadblock: Vhing Rhames (Mission Impossible 1 2 & 3) Has the size and skill to pull off an effective Roadblock. Not sure if we need the cartoon rhyming however.

Gung Ho : Dwayne 'The Rock" Johnson (Scorpion King) While he was rumored to be playing Shipwreck for Rise of Cobra, I think he build is better suited for Gung Ho. Just not sure of he can pull of the creole accent.

Beach Head: Josh Harnett (Blackhawk Down) played an effective SSG Eversman in BHD and has a wide range of roles to his credit. He may not be brash enough to pull off Beach Head ala the cartoon, but would do well with the comic version who was more underscored.

Those are all I could come up with atm. Feel free to add your own.

I like your choice for Lady Jaye.

I think John Cena woulve made a good Duke

Wesley Snipes for Stalker

Shaq wouldve been good for Roadblock,(practically the same guy)

George Clooney as Flint

If we could go back 20 or so years I'd say Jesse Ventura as Gung Ho and Sonny Landham as Spirit.

Nah..

Stone Cold Steve Austin for Gung Ho

Michael Clark Duncan (Green mile, Daredevil) for Roadblock

Stalker has to be a serious badass, Tyrese is too "pretty" to be Stalker... Common would be better imo.

I'm still going to say that Mark wahlberg would have been better as Duke...

Duke: Brad Pitt
Flint: George Clooney
Doc: Will Smith
Lady Jaye: Demi Moore

Cobra Commander: Johnny Depp
Storm Shadow: Keanu Reeves
Zartan: Keanu Reeves again
Firefly: Keanu Reeves a third time

I think this would be a rather expensive film.

WOW!

Kinda' out there mah' peeps...

While Steve Austin would be a good choice for Gunny...

And either MCD or Ving Rhames ould fit for Roadblock, here's my list...

Ditch Duke...His character was already ruined by Channing Tatum.

Colin Farrel as Flint.
Gary Oldman as Firefly (Or at least Gary Oldman as a voice over)
Josh Duhmal as Flash/Grand Slam (Kinda' nerdy/quirky)
Morena Baccarin as L Jaye (Classy yet slutty... IE: Firefly)
Ron Glass as Doc (Again, Firefly, shepard/ medic...same diff, plus deep calming yet authoritive voice)
Scott Levy: AKA Raven as Zartan- He cut the most psychotic promos in wrestling history. He took the old school Jake the Snake mentality to a whole new level, and that half of what Zartan is.

Dwayne Johnson AKA The Rock (Since he was rumored to be attached to the project due to Scorpion King): Seriously... He's a piss away actor. He can be hilarious, and fit roles for lame B grade movies. LOVED him as a wrestler, cause of his promos, but seriously, his best role was in the GAME PLAN!!! Hello. Background/supporting character. Maybe Rock n' Roll/ Bench Press ( Same character? lol)

Tomax/Xamot: The twins who were in Serenity! Shave and a haircut, two bits.

Scarlett, Snake Eyes, Heavy Duty, Stormy, Baroness, even Cobra Commander were well casted (though CC sounded more like CC as Rex, than when he put on the mask. Too f'n Darth Vader-ish BLECH!)

Breaker? Hell... Larry the cable guy would have done better.

My 2 cents.

It would be better just to keep the actors they have now for the characters they have. Just add new actors to the team or replace Joes or Cobras with different characters. I personally had no problems with the cast for either sides.

I'd say its better to keep the cast young, you cant have a old Flint, thats the same age as Hawk, it would seem odd. They aint going to cast big name actors now, the actors will be unknowns or small time names.

They could bring in Sgt. Slaughter!
Just kidding.
The only actor I can think of that would fit in with the established cast is Nathan Filion (Mal on Firefly). The way he delivers lines, I think he'd make a good addition. I just can't think of who'd he play best, since I still can't help but compare ROC to RAH.

one of my top 3 rules with genre movies is NO WRESTLERS. they almost always are terrible actors and/or too big of celebrities on their own right to 'own' a role where they are playing a character.

That's a great choice actually. I too was shocked when i found out he was British (or is he Australian?) ~ he hosted an event i went to and i was confused who he was because of the voice.

not bad, although i'm not so sure i agree on the "can act" part. I think there could be a better choice but none jump out at me.

Solid choice ~ while i see Stalker being a bit older, i think Tyrese pulls off the character type pretty well in the TF movies.

awesome choice. He might be getting a tad old, but still...

No. the problem with The Rock is he will always be The Rock. when he shows up it completely kills the suspension of disbelief because there he is, The Rock ~ or Dwayne Johnson if you prefere ;)

That's not bad either, although if BH was masked i think most anyone could play him. Keifer Sutherland actually would be kind of awesome ~ it wouldn't be a big stretch from Jack Bauer, but it'd be kind of fun to have a known actor play a masked character for most of a mocie and you don't know who it is...
