Clearly, this poll has nothing to do with quality.
Plus, others are simply throwing out statements, so I figure, why not? Clearly, RoC REALLY sucked,

1. ROC was successful for the movie company 2. Numbers on a FAN board don't lie, its there in black and white (not literally but you get my meaning) You personally can think it sucked until the cows come home, it still doesn't change the fact that it didn't suck for most fans, actually over half that chimed in here. And usually people here throw out statements and back them up - see I got numbers on my side, this poll should have put the nay sayers constant "ROC sucks" comments to rest, but I guess some believe if they will say it enough it will turn true for the rest of the world. BTW - Stating an opinion is one thing, this is a forum which I have come to believe likes debate right? An opinion which clearly a very few share with you and cut down to "it sucks" really doesn't lead to much debate. |

Eh, I enjoyed the movie, mainly because my expectations for it weren't great to begin with. As soon as I heard it was being made and who was involved, I had a bad feeling. But I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it. Its a terrible movie to be sure, lacking the things which make great movies great: a decent story, tolerable acting performances, subtlety, and a worthwhile direction and message. This is a simple action fest, but honestly, what else should it be? Its GI Joe, for Christ's sake. I love GI Joe as much as the next fan here on the boards, but I wasn't expecting Saving Private Ryan from this film. I wasn't even expecting Shwarzennegger's 80's turd Commando...and luckily I got something better (than Commando, not Saving Private Ryan). And strangely, this movie really does grow on you (fungus analogies aside). The first time I watched it I mildly hated it, despite being surprised at how bad it wasn't. Then after watching it again I began to just enjoy it. I turn my mind off, don't over-think it (especially given the number of logical fallacies laced throughout), and try not to compare it too much to the old cartoon, and you know what? Its not that bad. Enough so that I look forward to a sequel, where some of the mistakes of the first can hopefully be rectified. |

And we've come full circle. Welcome to page 76 of the Ongoing RoC debate thread. Up next we'll take turns comparing me to Jessie "The body" Ventura.
