It's kind of silly to keep calling the new direction Rise of Cobra in what will be a year into the line.

Again, I understand that the PoC universe is a continuation of the RoC universe.
But PoC is the new toyline, and will have a different feel and aesthetic than the RoC toyline did. The poll gets at whether or not you want to see more of the look and design of the Resolute toys, RoC toys, Vintage designs, or more of the new PoC styling. Voting for PoC because you want to see more of things like the PoC Zartan and the Night Viper does not mean you want to see more Accelerator suits and blue camo.

No, but it is voting that you want more of that universe and that the A-Suits (which do pop up with Desert Battle Ripcord) and RI Armor (Desert Battle Heavy Duty) and blue camo exist in that universe and can be seen again and that would be okay.

Well, sure that may/can happen, but the fact is, PoC is going in a different (IMO, much better) direction design wise with the toy line. A vote for PoC is not a vote that you want more RoC (movie-styled) stuff, it's a vote that you want to see the RoC universe continue to go the direction PoC seems to be taking it. That makes it much different than being the same as a vote for RoC.
A vote for RoC would mean you prefer the movie styling to the PoC styling. The two don't equate.

The movie styling has changed to the PoC styling, it's still the same line.
Heck, more then 1/2 the stuff that came out under the RoC banner and was RoC designs weren't in the movie. So the RoC design changed well the movie was still in theatres. City Strike Snake-Eyes falls under RoC designs, technically. But I'm done with anything to do with RoC discussions. The RoC Police have finally gotten to me. Have a good one.

CS SE was a REsolute design, it just was released in RoC packaging. It wasn't designed by the RoC team to be part of that universe though.

Well then my theory is that items designed for POC were actually designed for ROC thus making it ROC in POC packaging. It's just the way they decided to label it to create something apart from the movie. So basically what I am saying is that I see POC as ROC, because per your example its just the packaging that has changed. I do believe we will see more repaints of accelerator suits and impact armor and the rest of the "main" ROC things. Just saying that it might not has changed as much as you think it has - before we see any good examples (apart from what has been shown, because I doubt that was all of it), then it stands to reason this theory is sound. |

This is all so pointless. If Troynos is going to call ROC and POC the same thing and you are not who cares? He is not going to change your mind and you certainly are not going to change his.
I agree that ROC and POC are the same line, just updated and pushed forward but for all intent and purpose the poster of the thread might not have felt that way, or more accurately he did not feel that way or he would have combined the two. But if POC is a success Hasbro is going to still call part of the movie line. If it fails they are going to doa Mission Impossible and disavow it. Either way the debate is really silly....IMO. |
