But how is that electing a representative? Your idea is for each site to have a representative that reviews the script and makes sure it meets the criteria for what is MOST important in Joe.
So how would those not on a site elect a representative. They're fans just as much as we all are. So if we get to do this, then so should they. And how would we determine "what is best for Joe"? Who would get that awesome responsibility to meet the demands of potentially millions of fans? Edit: And why IDW? They have nothing to do with the movie. It was just a thought. Edit: And IDW have liaison with Paramount. They would be a group through which fans that don't post on the internet could make their voices heard.

For me personally I'm just tired of seeing ROC threads period! We've had literally hundreds of them in the months prior to the release of the movie and probably hundreds since the movie has been out. It's just such a tired topic already...that has been discussed to death and don't get me wrong I liked the movie, I'm just sick of talking, reading or hearing about it...that's all!
Also in all fairness this thread doesn't bug me nearly as much as the ROC movie tainted, raped, maimed, or somehow sh!t on my childhood threads...those are the worse! This isn't that bad

Yo, you started a thread where all you are gonna get is flack from the expert fanboys, who have read every comic book known to mankind. It can be frustrating to read all the negative comments from fanboys, but you have to take it with a grain of salt. And yet, these are all the same fanboys who b****ed and moaned before the movie came out and yet ran out to see it anyway. I love Hisstank and I really enjoyed ROC. But I have come to understand one thing about Hisstank, too many experts on everything GI Joe.

Seems that not only are people so hot to deride something that they will attack it without understanding it, but they don't really know who their friends are.
Say for a moment that someone who works in a position to affect the decision-making process IS reading or posting here. How would shooting holes in anything he or she says help? But be that as it may, the whole point of a debate and discussion is to arrive at a conclusion where there is no way that holes can be shot in the theory. A debate is where both sides go at it until the other side can't give a rebuttal to support their theory anymore becuase the other side has created a concrete theory that cannot be shot with holes anymore. So what's wrong with a little debate? You're asking questions. People are responding to them in a non-attacking manner and trying to reason thru your theory so that it can or cannot work.

and the question was asked if someone in authority read the board would it hurt us by saying , or some thing like that. Well i'm sure they do. but do you really think that in the very end, by end i mean the guy at the studio who needs a bottom line and greenlights a project, will take into account, to the matter of it making a real diffence, what a message board says? |

amen, im just a newbie, and far from expert. We do have some real experts here. But there are a lot of unreasonable posts on this topic.

What causes problems is people shouting each other down and clouding up the discussion.

Not making anything impossible. If it's to have any validity and be able to work, then all points should be addressed and thought about with appropiate response so when questioned by others, can answer and move on to the next point.

He didn't see it immediately. He was sold on the concept, but it wasn't until they were deep into production that he really started to see the merits of Larry Hama's mythology. Why was the movie so heavy with VvV, Sigma 6 and DDP crap? Because the first references sent from the manufacturers were those. NOT the old Hama run of comics. Those came later, after someone in the chain figured out what had been missing. Stephen Sommers KNOWS the mythology and appreciates it. Why didn't it show so much in the first movie? Because it was well into production before he had educated himself properly. No slighht on him- he did the best he could.
SOLUTION- Support. Now that Sommers sees this all for what it is, he will probably make a sequel that blows the first film out of the water. He's even gone on record as stating that he likes CC's mirror-mask. If we as fans don't over-complicate this by making an issue out of Breaker's nationality and concentrate on issues that are IMPORTANT, we might just get a movie that makes a lot more people happy. IN CONCLUSION- The movies are already happening. Throwing tantrums and threatening to boycott will not save anything. What WILL is effectively communicating what can be done with the pieces that are ALREADY IN PLACE to make the franchise closer to what wee actually want to see. If we try to have clear, civil debates, we will improve the sequel. If we cry like a bunch of babies who can't handle Blowtorch bein from Boise instead of Tampa, we're going to futz up the whole thing just like the first one. Oh, and if you feel like the movies are too far gone for help and you won't be watching them, do us all a favor and don't bother to comment. for whatever flaws he has, I'm excited to see what he can do with the sequel. |
