I've watched it so many times I think my wife is ready to hide my DVD! She liked it too BTW, just not as big a fan as I am... but she just got a whole bunch of Jane Austen movie adaptations today from the library though. *sigh* That's karma for you...

Marketing costs are still up for debate - we don't know how much it cost them versus how much they earned. Quote:

The poll which asks what we thought of the movie in terms of quality (and incidentally has a larger scale for responses and also more respondents, which if anything, makes it more reliable than this one) shows that only 48% of those same fans thought the movie was praiseworthy.

BTW - I didn't say "RoC sucks" to generate more debate. We've already had plenty. I said it as contrast to the random statements CLASSIFIED was making about the movie which were equally simple and also without any evidence (and I assume with as much tongue in his cheek).

No. Because, in my personal opinion and aside from the fact that it hardly resembled G.I. Joe, it was a terrible movie. But again, this is just my opinion.

How "good" the movie was, it's "quality" is not the issue here.
We aren't talking about an artistic "indie" film or even one trying to nab a Golden Globe or an Oscar. We're talking about a movie based on a toy line, a commercial of sorts, designed probably more to sell toys than tickets. The debate is whether or not more people enjoyed the movie, a debate the fans of RoC have clearly one. Previous polls failed to illustrate this point as clearly and succinctly as this one. It is the superior poll. To gradually devolve your argument into "I was just saying the movie wasn't good, not that people didn't enjoy it" is disappointing. To everyone that at one time maintained that the vast majority didn't like the movie; it's time to admit that you were wrong. I suspect instead you will continue to grasp at straws. Good luck with that. R0C was awesome. |
