Russia uses all of our designs. It makes sense that Cobra would use designs from US aircraft. It would save them a ton of cash on research and development. Look at the Black Jack. Have you seen the new MIG concepts? It looks like an F-22. Just lazy...

Regardless, a Night Raven and new Skystriker based on the old would be fitting in the movie line, even if the Skystriker does not necessarily show up in the movie. The chances of bigger vehicles are greater next year when the movie comes out and the budget for toys is higher. A classic is a classic, just because in the newest Star Wars comics, new starfighters are used, does not prevent Hasbro from pushing out X-wings every now and then.

As for the toys I have hopes they rock I might be able to use them as custom fodder.
On the movie side I understand wanting to put up the back story, However, As bad as the movie sounds so far they should wait 15 years before doing the back story like Carlito's Way Rise to Power. The First G.I.Joe movie should have been about action and overwheling oods against our heros. See the movie Guns of Navarone replace Nazi's with Cobra and you got a good Joe movie or Just do a little editing to The Day after Tomorrow and you have The Revenge of Cobra
Secondly The fact that the face of Cobra Commander will be revilled has the STINK of Inspector Gadget the movie when it shows Dr. Claw right off the bat!! We didn't need to know who the commander was. Telling us upfrount the story of the commander is like starting out Star Wars with Luke asking Obi-Wan How did my Father Die? Well your Dad turned out to be a real ass so I chopped off his legs and left him for dead but the Emporer made an outfit for him and called him Darth Vader! This movie will be as bad as Street Fighter or Tomb Raider and I know this might be too harsh to say but I think, "G.I.Joe the movie will be as bad as American Cyborg Steel Warrior" It is from 1993 do the google. After G.I.Joe people will be running and yelling,"FOR THE LOVE OF GOD LET ME WATCH A STEVEN SEGAL MOVIE SO I CAN SEE SOMETHING GOOD!!!!!!!"
