I actually thought the creation of Cobra Island, and the later war between Cobra Commander (Fred), Serpentor, and Destro with the Joes caught in the middle was one of the most interesting and dramatic storylines of the original series. I'd love for them to adapt that into a three movie saga.
I. Introduce Joe vs. Cobra end with the creation of Cobra Island with the Joes fighting to push Cobra off before they can legitimize their claim. II. Introduce Serpentor and expand the divisions in the Cobra heirarchy while Terrordromes begin to dot the world III. All out war with the three Cobra factions and Joe in the middle.

Stephen Sommers is my one, single solitary concern for this movie. But, as concerns go, by gawd it's a big one! I mean, I literally couldn't sit through all of VAN HELSING, while THE MUMMY bored me silly. If someone can convince him that CGI actually needs to look convincing before being included in a movie, it may soften the blow. Last edited by WildWeasel; 02-20-2008 at 03:13 PM.. |

OK now also look at the casting of marlon wayans for crying out loud. He killed any notion that dungeons and dragons was going to be a good movie. Even though they are hyping it is wow your going to like this it will blow you away. I'm still quite a bit skeptical. I don't have a problem with Stephen Sommers, I liked the mummy movies, but on the same token hated van helsing. I am very happy that michael bay isnt attached to this project. But the simple fact that they did hire marlon wayans shows where their heads are. I probably might see this regardless (will have to see something positive on it first). I am however still hopefull since it is Gi Joe, and other than marlon wayans has a good cast.

Go watch "Requiem for a Dream" or the Coen Brothers remake of "The Ladykillers" for a real gauge of Wayans' talent. He's quite good in both.

How about the lower part of the guage like oh Little Man, White chicks, scary movie, and the list goes on. I don't like him and nothing could make me think other wise. I can't stand his attempt at humor. I realize d & d was bad, but marlon wayans made it worse. I wouldn't watch requim or ladykillers with or without him in them. I love good humor, and grew up on in living color and madtv etc. |

The poor movies in which wayans was attached was because it was the tone fo those movies, just to be goofy and stupid. I'm sure that when he is required, he will look serious and maybe even badass.
