In that movie is where it all ended but is revealed where COBRA came from. Which was the ancient secret civilization of COBRA-LA. I definitely think the whole COBRA-LA story filled it in nicely and they should either make the live action movie a series and lead it up to the remake of the G.I. Joe animated movie. I think Gerard Butler as Serpentor is a great casting choice. Please somebody comment.

Uh, I've never met or seen Hama before that interview. But, was he on medication? He seemed a bit disjointed.
Also, his comments that the script fell flat do not sound like a rousing endorsement of the movie. All I could think after watching that interview is that he wasn't convinced that the movie was going to be any good. And frankly, he sold me on that more than on how good production is going. He indicated that the movie was proceeding better than he expected. That wasn't a very good sell. Gaelinic |

Having spoken with Larry (a good friend of mine) personally, if he didn't like it, he would have said he didn't like it. He was basically telling you he is really happy, in his own way. |

Larry Hama is the king of this universe!! I will say that most comic writers/creators aren't vaunted for their charisma. My best friend is a retired star wars comic artist (who actually worked with Larry on wolverine # 83) and I would imagine him being very similar in that interview. Plus he did say it had been a long day. I have a hard time deciding what the hell to eat for dinner after a long day let alone answering a jittery interviewers' trifle lot of questions.

huh? CC didn't have him in check. If you ask me its the other way around and Serpentor has/had CC in check. CC was a pussy. Serpentor was way more mean and a better leader. Its just CC was the first leader and the epitomy of evil so I can see why us fans want to stay true to him as COBRA's leader. But overall I think Serpentor was a better leader and had to be made to even make COBRA a real threat, bc even though in the end they always lost to G.I. Joe at least with Serpentor as leader it felt like they went out with more of a fight. In fact Serpentor was the only 1 who fucked up Sgt. Slaughter in the cartoon. Sgt. Slaughter used to fuck up everybody in COBRA and when they made Serpentor he whipped Sgt. Slaughter's ass and smacked CC around. I think it was in the Arise Serpentor Arise 5 part mini series that it happened. Don't get me wrong I love CC too but as far as leadership skill and fighting he couldn't fuck with Serpentor. But CC's lust for greed and power ends up being shown as the more evil of the 2 as his role leans more towards dictatorship as opposed to Serpentor's monarchism. But if they get into the comics mythology and make it a 3 way war in the end with G.I. JOE/COBRA/COIL it would be awesome. w/b |
