I would like to see what Sam Worthington could have done with the the role of Duke. I agree with Crews for roadblock other than that I was pretty happy with the rest of the cast.

Can't take credit for this unserious list, somebody else posted it on another forum elsewhere - if the studio REALLY decided to let the franchise go to camp ...
Burt Reynolds as Dr. Mindbender Jim Carrey as Cobra Commander Adam West as General Hawk (I can see him now, with helmet on) Vince Vaughn as Shipwreck Owen Wilson as Wild Bill Dave Chappelle and Chris Tucker as Crimson Guardsmen Sasha Barron Cohen as Zartan Isla Fischer as Scarlett Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly as Tomax and Xamot Samuel L. Jackson as Alpine Larry the Cable Guy as Bazooka Jackie Chan as Storm Shadow ... and possibly also (my choices) ... Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Baroness Kurtwood Smith as Destro Dennis Leary as Breaker Sean William Scott as Snake Eyes George Foreman as Roadblock Ben Stiller as Duke Jack Black as Snow Job Robert Downey, Jr. as Stalker

I'm constantly amazed that Jeremy Irons shows up so infrequently on fan lists for the role of Cobra Commander. Voice, body, experience and ability; it simply couldn't have been any better than Jeremy Irons. (In the hands of a director and crew that would have treated it slightly more seriously)

Only if it was a spoof - like his Sgt. Lincoln Osiris character in "Tropic Thunder". He was great in that one.

Oliver, have you been reading my mind? Years ago I came up with a cast for G.I. Joe, and The Rock was my pick for Torpedo. He made sense to me, since he's Samoan and Torpedo's Hawaiian-not exactly the same but close. Others included Noah Wylie as Lifeline, David James Elliot and Catherine Bell as Flint & Lady Jaye, and Gary Oldman as Cobra Commander. I think I had Sam Elliot in there too.

I like Catherine Bell, but she's never come across to me as very intelligent - not Lady Jaye intelligent. I like a young Janine Turner (Northern Exposure). She's a little too old now, but in her prime she would have been perfect. I still gotta go with a young Val Kilmer for Flint. Think of him when he filmed Willow... but have you seen "Spartan". Yeah, he's pretty fantastic. He makes Jason Bourne look like Mr. Rodgers.

Wow, haven't seen Willow in ages. Yeah, Kilmer could've pulled it off. I'm vaguely familiar with Janine Turner, and I suppose she could've done a good job as well. I've never seen Spartan-is it in the same vein as 300 and Troy?
