I think the movie is great. Then again I still have not seen it so it makes it tough to completely hate it. If I was crazy enough to see it I'm sure I would join the h8ter group.
I actually burnt a $10 bill because it was a shorter amount of time to suffer. |

I loved it the first time I saw it. But the 2nd time I really wasn't feeling it as much. I still enjoyed it though. Alot of my co-workers, young and old, and family and friends who did go see it thought it was awful. While the rest thought it was okay. I asked the ones that thought it was awful, why? The majority of the answers were they thought it would be more or the same of the GI Joe that they were familiar with. Now the ones that liked it said they enjoyed it, but thought that it was a superhero type of movie before it came out. Bear in the mind that some of them weren't familiar with GI Joe at all.

RoC was a bottomlessly worthless movie. It does not embody any of the forbearing concepts previously put fowarth. They hack and slashed continuity points under the guise of making improvements.
However, the films changes were not any better and most of the time were worse than the original. The CGI was SciFi network quality. Sub pare, cheaply made, and unrealistic. Indeed the acting was bad. But I don't think that is the actor's fault. I feel responsibility ultimately falls upon Sommers and the screenwriters. The film was ill conceived and rushed due to the writers impending strike. They literally were writing pages as they were shooting the film! Terrible management and the final cut shows it's monumental failure. I wrote letters to Hasbro and Paramount voicing my concerns. I used point by point specifics as why it was bad. Some folks will love it even if the Smurfs and Tele Tubbies were cast in it. They will argue until their voice is hoarse that the film was great! Disregard those meaningless banters because they don't understand how to critique a film.

Disregard those meaningless banters because they don't understand how to critique a film. Now, this is where I hold up my mitts. Do you mean to say that I do not know how to critique a film? In that, you misunderstand a basic sense of the word "critique." What I am doing is critiquing the film: IE, I am actively putting thought into it, discerning what I think works and does not work. What you seem intent on doing is "criticizing" the film. Very different. A critique gives an honest, fleshed-out vision of how a film is working or not working in certain regards. A criticism would simply level a film as a "bottomless, worthless" work. Only one of these requires actual thought, while the other is simply a knee-jerk reaction. Now, if you can get some depth into *why* the forbearing concepts to which you refer damage the film in absence, then you elevate your statement into an arguement, a critique. Otherwise, this is just as informative as that meandering comment about burning ten dollars. Ta~! ^____^

A critique is OPINION, that's all. I liked RoC, I liked the version of G.I. Joe that it represented. Was it my Joe? Nope. But it was a version of Joe and it provided me with entertainment. End of story. Do I like everything with the Joe name on it? Hell no. Loathed Extreme. Can't get into Savage. Hate most of the figure designs for VvV and Spytroops. Hate what I've seen of the DiC cartoon. Hate Sgt. Slaughter. Hate the colors on Slaughter's Marauders. Hate Python Patrol. Hate the Dreadnoks and absolutely cannot stand Zarana and Zandar. At least Zandar had the good graces to disappear from the comic books until DDP and they at least put Zarana to good use in the comics.
