Not at all, and it's kind of sad and stupid if some people let it.
I mean, seriously, how many times have we been thru this with other brands (and not just Joe)? How many times has a franchise we liked been changed for different media? How many different versions of the X-Men have made it to tv? 1- Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends 2- The original cartoon pilot: Pryde of the X-Men 3- The first long running animated series 4- The one a couple of years ago where Storm and Wolvie were teachers of teenage X-Men 5- Wolverine and the X-Men There's been a couple different versions of Iron Man in differnet media. Batman has had how many? And that's not even getting into the comics themselves. How many new directions and retcons have all those franchises been thru? Are all the different iterations beloved? No. But they all have their fans. But is it worth getting this upset and worked up over? God no...

That's what was so disappointing about RoC, I would have loved to experience that again. But the RoC Joes were literally unrecognizable except for Snake-Eyes. I got that feeling a little during the Paris Pursuit scenes that involved SE and Scarlett, but not at all throughout the rest of the movie. I get that it's a relaunch, blah blah, but one of the things I was most looking forward to when I first heard of the live action Joe movie was that feeling you describe above.

Even if it had been more accurate, there still would have been enough differences that would have gotten the same reaction that get now. I actually think there would have been a bigger backlash in the end if they had more resembled the ARAH designs and had a somewhat different story.
