Larry Hama writes and Jon Favreu directs. Wipe the slate clean like Hulk and Punisher, and set it in the early 1980's. The movie will be a mix between origin flashbacks and current storyline. It will mainly focus on Snake Eyes and how he affected or has been affected by the rest of the main characters. Cobra Commander, Zartan, Storm Shadow, Baroness, and Scarlets origins are touched uopn as well. Thats all I got so far......................

Not me. That's a LOT of pressure there.
Baroness has been with Destro - anyone else is bound to be boring by comparison (the guy wears a metal mask ALL THE TIME), and I'm betting she'd probably hurt you. Plus, Destro would hunt you down afterwards, and that would probably pop into your head at some point during the act, and that would totally throw off your game. And Scarlett. Well, she's been with Snake-eyes, and let's be honest, we all know the Arashikage mindset wasn't just good for evading ninja kicks. Then she was with Ripcord, and once you go... ...aww, nevermind. Too far? Yeah, too far...

No, they really haven't. Because 90 percent of the world doesn't understand the difference between "in development" and "greenlit." The sequel is NOT greenlit. Greenlit means it's actually happening, barring some unforseen disaster. After opening weekend Paramount said, "We're looking at putting a sequel in development."
A movie can stay "in development" for years, even decades, and effectively never happen. It's called "development hell" for a reason. For example: The sequel to Superman Returns has been "in development" pretty much since the week after Superman Returns came out. Likewise, the movie that eventually became Superman Returns was "in development" almost since the Michael Keaton Batman movie took off. It took almost twenty years to get to screens. Heck, G.I. Joe itself was "in development" for quite a long time before the success of Transformers spurred Paramount to take action on it. All this talk from Paramount about a sequel (and from what I can tell there's been zero beyond that first statement), is Hollywood marketing. Make the public think there's going to be a sequel so that people don't think they'll be "wasting time" investing in the movie that's currently on-screens. Or that they'll be "behind" if they don't see this one. Bottom line, the sequel is NOT a sure thing at this point. Those outlets (including Hisstank itself) that were reporting the sequel as "greenlit" after opening weekend were incorrect in their terminology, or in their understanding of what Paramount was really saying.
