except box office numbers aren't reported by studios they are reported by independent bodies, so there goes your argument, not that you ever have facts on your side to begin with.
other things CG101 doesn't believe because of possible bias: George Washington wasn't the first President (says who, it can't be proven except by the words of dead people). the earth revolves around the sun (says who, astronomers. they clearly have an agenda) by your logic (as if you ever use it) you can't believe anything you don't experience first hand because any transfer of information can be manipulated by the communicator. so, how much do you really believe your argument or are you just trolling? and not that you need a bigger shovel to dig yourself a deeper hole of ignorance, publicly traded companies earnings aren't private and confidential, they are made public, which is the backbone of investing based on earnings. Paramount Pictures is owned by Viacom, Viacom is a publicly traded company, and all its earnings are made public based on factual accounting regulated by the SEC. I know you won't dispute this, and you won't admit you don't know what you are talking about ever, and you're only defense will be to try and weasel around this and say that Paramount can lie and commit fraud just to defend the idea that ROC didn't earn as much as is reported by Paramount and independent box office agencies. surely, the President of Paramount and his CFO are going to risk prison terms just to continue the facade that ROC was a minimal success at best. in your world, where everyone is as unreasonable to you, I bet that is perfectly normal behavior, though. feel free to just copy and paste right from my post. |

The biggest X factor is what kind of profit sharing Paramount has with Hasbro. How much of toy sales is being kicked back into the movie profits? This is an area Hasbro has been excelling at lately - via SW, TF, and Gi Joe as well. I believe a sequel is inevitable - even if Paramount were to drop the rights. Hasbro is making too much money on this line to let it go, and another studio could make a smaller budget, more traditional Joe film and make a lot of money. Paramount itself may do this.

GI JOE has never been tested and it had nothing to compare itself too so as far as Hasbro and Parmount was concerned a realistic war film based on a toyline was /had to be a daunting task to bring to the screen. Was it a comic movie, toy movie, war movie...... you can see that from the pacing and themes the movie could not find its legs. |

You had me right up to the point where I remember that Firefly got cancelled and the movie "Serenity" box office broke just about even with it's budget, but no one thinks it's getting a sequel except the most hard core of browncoats.
