It is ludicrous, without a doubt...
The question is... Is the figure of $325 a ludicrous suggestion (the reality is lower) or The figure is accurate and it was a ludicrous figure to invest by the studio I honestly can't decide which ludicrous situation is the most true... Sallah |

considering Rip Cord isn't real, there is no absolute manner in which he can be portrayed, so attempting to claim there is by claiming what he was previously is all the character can ever be and any deviation is incorrect is, in fact, incorrect. |

I just don't buy it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not is possession of the absolute facts, but for anyone to invest $325m in a film (that would require $650m in bo receipts) is utterly unbelievable, esp an untested franchise. I'm not being mean or anything but the source, however credible it usually is, must be incorrect, or there has been some major mistakes at Paramount. If the movie DID cost that much and it is a such a loss we can forget EVER having a movie again, of any nature, with GI Joe in the title. |

2) Ripcord..........all I'm going to say on that one
That doesn't tell us anything. If you have a point, you may as well make it... well my point is obvious..... Ripcord is a white guy named "Weems, Wallace A." Red hair..... Scottish....they had a Wayans brother play em.... I am not surprised by the how much $$$$$ it made..... Ripcord, in the comics, seemed light hearted, funny and a ladies man. These characteristics are present in the movie character. If you had to pick a character for Wayans to play (based on characteristics not race or hair colour) then Ripcord is a better match than Stalker. To their credit they've found a character that matches rather than matching the physical appearance. |

The movie was...... so lame.....
I am a huge fan of the cartoon and the comic. The way i see it is..... that the movie was just another persons idea of how it would look. What made my blud boil was... 1) Duke and this chick named Anna.....(yes i know it was the Baroness) but you all know it was not the same. you can not deny that. i think they dropped her name one time? NO ACCENT?!?!?! Her and duke escaping....kinda lame.... UNLESS!!!!!!! she is just acting like she has been reformed and is just getting close to duke to get info?..... We just have to wait for part two i guess. 2) Ripcord..........all I'm going to say on that one 3) Snake Eyes and his lips on the suit..... creepy 4) All of their uniforms..... lame i mean if i am not mistaken some wore blue cammo...... in the middle of the desert or inside of a giant building underground made out of metal........ 5) Why not Roadblock?...... and stalker?....... or Doc..... instead of changing a character completely... Heavy duty.... 90's character..... and where was his green ass hat?! all in all i just wish they stuck with the original story line....It worked already.

Wrong, and I'll tell you why. The first week maybe, sure, I'll buy that. The people who really WANT to see the movie because it's a huge franchise that they are enamored with will go see it right away, but after that, it's all word of mouth and reviews of friends or people who liked the trailers. Granted, some people from the first group will go see such a movie again and again, but you do not top $300 mil with only fans of a franchise.
Wrong and I'll tell YOU why....Phantom Menace...and that was one of the movies mentioned so I'm using it..had BAD reviews from the get go..and the word of mouth was nothing special other then the name. The movie was carried and got to where it was *box office* wise because of the name, point blank...There was so much hype built up ASIDE from the fans that everyone and their mother, whether they gave a rats ass about SW or not wanted to see it. If you failed to see that at the time it was all going on, maybe you were hanging out with Rip Van Winkle I don't know what else to tell you..... It was plastered on every magazine, and ingrained into every pixel of every T.V. screen. It had very little to do with....... Damn, that movie is just SOOO good that everyone just had to see it and took in $300 mil + on content. Quote:
If you want to dissect my reply and make more of it then it is then thats on you...Why would I sit here and say that, something like Phantom Menace or ROC for instance sucked to the point of IT SHALL BE WRITTEN!!!...There hasn't been a movie recorded in which an opinion would be 100% sided. So if thats how you want to perceive what I said, then continue to be naive. Your sitting here telling me that I shouldn't discount the 60k people on Yahoo that made a mouse click...and yet the thousands upon thousands of articles, statements, interviews, blogs etc. that thought the movie was sub par should be discounted? It goes both ways...you sound biased..... Your argument holds no water....All I know is that I've heard/seen a hell of ALOT more criticism for movies like PM and ROC then positive reinforcement...AND it just not from fans/nerds, but I guess non of that matters since YAHOO and it's 60k strong have spoken!! "look we have 2 ideas for a GI joe movie.....1) RAH.....2) we will let the whole design team from the 1990's toy line have at it..... ROC storyline.... (orange missiles!!!) and you pick one" Last edited by kittnbringer; 08-26-2009 at 07:58 PM.. Reason: forgot stuff |

no, Rip Cord was previously portrayed as white ginger. what he is, inherently meaning presently, is a black guy who was played by a Wayans.
