150 million in marketing is an unprecedented amount of money for a marketing campaign, which is why I think it's made up. I re-checked Superman Returns at the-numbers.com, and it turns out the marketing budget was 41 million (this figure comes from the Nielsen research group), and like I said, that was considered at the time one of the most expensive marketing campaigns ever. I highly doubt GI Joe's campaign was more than $50 million, and even that is a very generous estimate. There are NO verified numbers available for GI Joe's marketing budget, so right now you are going purely on "150 million sounds right, because it makes my argument more effective" no matter how unrealistic and unsupported that figure is.
I cited a source, and I maintain my theory. If ROC 2 has a reduced budget, then I am right. If ROC 2 fires Sommers, Bonaventura or the other morons who made ROC, then I am right. My theory is a grand slam home run if these two things are true, and the stupid thing is a direct-to-DVD release. Only time will tell, but given the absolute silence from Paramount and Hasbro right now, I am going to stick to my guns until I see something to counter my theories. |

Really bucko.......wikipedia????????????????
Anyone who sources Wikipedia a user submitted site has no idea what he is talking about. WIKIPEDIA.......REALLY? I mean REALLY? ROC 2 does not exist....... so they cannot fire anyone, ROC 2 cannot reduce a budget cause ROC 2 does not exist....... etc, etc, etc. Now Paramount can do those things. |

PS... Since you people are downplaying the 150 million dollar expenses in ROC marketing, then you need to counter it with your own sources of information. I cited a source, which is a hell of a lot more verifiable than your "nuh uuuuuuuh" responses. |

Some hack writers are dumb enough to do "research" at Wikipedia and still get their books published. That's about how reliable the "150 million dollar marketing budget" claim in the LA times article is, so it might as well have come from Wikipedia.
No, you cited an article that cited the original article whose validity I have contested. Unless you can find an ACTUAL source that does not cite or mention the LA times article, you have nothing but the LA times article (whose figure had no source or citation). You're going to have to try a lot harder than that to convince me that the 150 million figure was not just a dumb guess pulled out of that LA times writer's arse.

My theories remain intact, and the lowered budget and personnel changes for ROC 2 (if it is even made) will eventually vindicate me. |
