The Movie seems to have a lot of people buying it. Interestingly I find the economy may be driving these numbers. It is cheaper to buy a DVD than it is to take a family of two to four to the movies.

Rented and saw it last night all the way through.
Goddamn it was a good ride. Probably Sommer's best movie since the first Mummy (admittedly not saying much, but...). Could it have been more faithful? Yeah, but guess what? I was too busy watching a Neo-Viper get blasted off his feet in a fireball, and then get up and keep coming at the Joes ON FIRE (what are these guys, organic BATS?) to really give a shit. Hell, even Dennis Quaid's narmtastic performance became a win when he uttered that immortal (and meme-worthy) line. "Release the sharcs!" |

Now that I did though, I kinda wish I had seen it on the big screen. Lowered expectations helped, but it was a lot better than I expected. :( |

I'm glad to see this movie is having a strong afterlife on DVD, in addition to the solid box office numbers. A sequel looks pretty inevitable at this point!
